Morocco exceeded our expectations. From the outset, Mohammed was very responsive when we communicated with him in planning our trip. He promptly replied to our questions. Our driver and guide, Rachid, was knowledgeable, engaging, attentive and very accommodating. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best authentic Moroccan experience, including having lunch at his family's home in one of the villages. Some local musicians from Rachid's village also put on a performance for us. Rachid picked us up in Tangiers, brought us to where the mediterranean meets the Atlantic and was accommodating by showing us Cap Spartel & Hercules Cave before we left Tangiers although it wasn't part of our itinerary. He even gave us some change to tip at the washrooms. Rachid patiently waited as we explored the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. We stayed a night in the beautiful Blue City of Chefchaouen in a riad overlooking the Kasbah. We bartered in markets and bought art from a local artist, ceramics and agave scarves. We saw camels, donkeys, sheep, parrots, peacocks & turtles. Rachid shared information about the Moroccan culture and he shared entertaining stories. We explored the bustling souks of Fes and saw artistans at work making ceramics, leather dying at the Chouara Tannery and making cosmetics. One of our party is a big U2 fan and Rachid brought us to take pictures of the blue gate where U2 shot a video. We passed by many Nomad in the countryside moving their animals & families from place to place. We stopped in Ifrane, the little Switzerland of Morocco, for coffee & pastries. We interacted with macaque apes in the Azrou Cedar Forest & witnessed an incredible interaction between parents & a baby ape. We drove the High Atlas switchback mountains and were grateful for Rachid's excellent driving. Moroccan drivers are more aggressive than we are used to in Canada but we always felt safe with Rachid. We really liked the Dades Valley and walking though the Todra Gorge. We were impressed with the women of Morocco. We visited a cooperative of women making argon oil & cosmetics. We also saw the authentic Morocco in the villages & the hardworking women carrying supplies on their backs through the villages. When I wasn't feeling well the day that we were to ride the camels through the desert, Rachid improvised and I was able to do a shorter camel ride so that I didn't miss out. It's been on my bucket list and was a highlight of our trip. We rode camels across the Sahara desert at sunset. Absolutely magical! Spent the night in a luxury camp where we had a campfire and were entertained by drummers. We watched the sunrise the next morning. We drove through the Hollywood of Morocco and saw famous film locations where Gladiator and the Mummy were filmed. We really enjoyed the narrow alleyways of Marrakech where we shopped the souks and brought home Moroccan spices. We walked through Jemaa el-Fnaa Square & were entertained by its snake charmers. There were a lot of police stops on the highways but because we had an official driver and a paper on our windshield, we were never pulled over. We were happy to have a guide who knew the culture and spoke the local language. He actually speaks 6 languages. The accommodations were authentic with stairs and no elevators. Although I don't generally like tea or mint, I really liked the Moroccan tea that was served to welcome us at every riad we checked into. The breakfasts included were amazing with a large variety of choice. We would highly recommend this tour. The service was knowledgeable, personal and genuine. We have traveled a lot and this was one of our favourite trips. Thanks, Rachid, Mohammed & Destino Marruecos!

Thank you, Destino Marruecos, for your great organisation of our trip. Our accommodation was all that we expected and at times more, especially the places with pools, such a great treat after a day out. Ibrahim, our driver/guide, was so welcoming and knowledgeable. He really made sure we were well taken care of. This 7 day tour was absolutely amazing!

This trip was truly unforgettable! The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, with most of the planned events in each city being both engaging and well-executed. Every riad we stayed in was wonderful—located in safe, welcoming areas and staffed by incredibly kind and attentive people. The breakfasts were also consistently delicious and satisfying. A very special thank you goes to our driver and guide, Rasheed. He was fantastic—always punctual, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. We never had to think about meeting up at certain times. He was there literally from pick up at our hotel on the first day to drop off at the airport the last day. He gave us helpful overviews of each day's plans and shared insightful background information during our drives. Despite his professionalism, he remained friendly, approachable, and easy to talk to throughout the trip. He even surprised us with a “Happy Honeymoon” cake during our stay in the Sahara, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the entire experience feel personal and special

We had a great experience. Our driver asked us about our interests and tried to include our preferences in the trip, as well as explained things about the country that we didn't understand. He also helped us navigate situations like how to interact with locals and vendors, find bank machines, and figure out local norms like tipping and meal options. The tour covered a lot of ground, but stops were interspersed into the trip, giving us the chance to get out of the van, stretch our legs and see different attractions up close. Our driver took pictures of us when we wanted group shots. We got to see a variety of things from the geographical formations, animals, modern and historic buildings and communities, agriculture, and cultural activities. The accommodations were good, although sometimes with many steep stairs. We found the driving in Morocco more aggressive than we are used to in Canada and there are far more motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic especially in urban areas.

Wow what a tour! Rachid was the best driver and Moroccan host. First of all he made us feel very safe in what felt like an unfamiliar country. He is also a very calm and relaxed driver. At each stop, either hotel or attraction, he coordinated ahead of time to made sure the hotel host or tour guide was there to meet us. The hotels at each location exceeded expectations. We loved our time in Merzouga/ Sahara despite the rain and wind. Rachid’s home village was close by so he took us to a musical troupe (I forget the name) which was an extra special treat. Rachid also assisted in helping us secure turbans for the desert. Most of all we appreciated Rachid’s willingness to chat about Moroccan life and culture. It was so interesting. And he had a great sense of humor, despite being a fan of Real Madrid. We missed him immediately! The tour guides arranged by the tour in Fes, Marrakech, Voboulis were also excellent. They were super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The food and bathroom stops along the way were almost all great. This is important as there is a lot of driving on this tour to cover so much territory. Our only regret was not booking a longer tour.

This trip exceeded expectations in every way. Of course some of that is down to the beauty of Morocco and its people, but so much of it is because we chose this specific tour. I cannot say enough good things about our guide and tireless chauffeur Mohamed. He was professional, accommodating, friendly, hospitable, and made sure we had an absolutely incredible time. We were a small group, and we so appreciated his flexibility in meeting our needs and preferences. We always felt safe, supported, and appropriately attended to, but we didn’t feel overly insulated from the Moroccan experience. We had a good mix of organized and more intimate activities, and we had enough free time on our own both to relax and to find that taste of spontaneous adventure that we were craving. It was an expertly struck balance, and for that we are extremely grateful. The itinerary was well structured, and even though we covered so much ground in a relatively short time, it never felt like we were being run ragged. The desert was a highlight, but honestly every part of the trip was absolutely magical, and I have already recommended this specific tour to multiple friends. Thank you again, Mohamed and Destino Marruecos!

Our Morrocan adventure started in Tangier. Mohammed met us on time with a warm smile at our hotel. We were at first slightly disappointed to learn that we were the only guests on this tour. We were looking forward to meeting fellow travelers. But Mohammed was so friendly, interesting, and funny that we quickly overcame our initial disappointment. We enjoyed our trip immensely even though the temperatures in January were colder than we anticipated. The best months would probably be in the spring or fall, but you will have an amazing experience whatever month you choose. Highlights of the trip for us were the blue city of Chefchouan, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the medina of Fez, the Sahara desert camp, the market of Rissani, the Morroccan landscapes and villages, and Marrakesh. We truly got to experience the warmth of the Morroccan people when Mohammed invited us to his extended family's home for a traditional, delicious, home cooked meal. My wife even had henna tattoos applied to her hands. Thank you, Mohamned - You are a so-so driver but a great ambassador for your country. (Just kidding - You are an excellent driver.)
