We came here in the mid morning to catch the kiwi experience and late morning show. It was a lovely time and something that’s a must for those visiting Queenstown with children, especially so if they are interested in animals and conservation. Fully stroller friendly, cafe located on site, restrooms are accessible and they have a changing table at the ready.

One of the few places you can actually see the nocturnal kiwis. They have a house that you enter and wait 10 minutes until your eyes adjust and then you get to see how fast the kiwi actually move. The park has birds and the conservation show was very entertaining. Seeing the tuatara up close (but no touching) was a highlight. Tasting all the different honey flavours was amazing - who has ever heard of ‘thyme honey’?

Although many people said this is a small park, I’d say don’t miss it. This is the first place I saw kiwi in dark room which is really a nice adventure. I went alone and felt so enjoyed.

Had a great couple of hours exploring park. It included a conservation talk and kiwi encounter. Much better value than franz josef exhibit, although both contribute to conservation. Thought it was good value.

Thanks to the park for conserving the precious species of creatures in NZ. A well educated trip and happy to see Kiwi birds and hear about their stories.

Wonderful peaceful surroundings in an otherwise bustling town was a welcome reprieve. Staff were super friendly right throughout the park. Special mention for the wonderful young gent presenting the Kiwi presentation. He was knowledgeable, approachable and engaging. Which brings us to the Kiwis themselves. They were so incredible. They were active, they were clearly happy, jumping and eating and showing off. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and was the highlight of our Queenstown sojourn.

Beautiful native bird park. The kiwi experience was amazing, the dark kiwi house allows them to do their nocturnal business you can watch them run around and fossick for food. Several of the bird enclosures you can go into and be up close with the birds.
