Ultimate Pisa & Florence: Livorno Shore Day Experience

Pick up and drop off was a breeze, great instructions and comfortable, cool van. Our driver was great with conversation and told us about the Tuscan countryside as we drove to Florence and Pisa. Drop off was very convenient with plenty of free time at each stop to explore on our own. I do recommend getting skip the line tickets for Santa Croche and the Duomo as those are not included, which will save you time when exploring if you want to see those two magnificent places.

We had a small group — 4 of us traveling together from the U.S. and 4 very nice people traveling together from Australia. As a result, we were in a van with an English speaking driver. It was great to not be with a large group even though we didn’t have an actual guide. Our driver Valeria was very punctual and did a great job driving and finding good spots to park so we could easily access points of interest. She was also very clear with instructions for where to walk and how to find her afterwards. We got back to the port with the perfect amount of time (30 minutes) before embarkation time. All in all, an excellent experience. The only thing I want to mention as an FYI is that there is no free shuttle from the ship to the coach parking as stated in the instructions. The shuttle costs €7 per person and goes to the city but will make an intermediate stop at the coach terminal.

Great tour with engaging tour guide. He did a great job getting us to our destination and back to the ship. Not enough time in Florence but that wasn’t the guides fault. There is so much to see and do there. The tour guide of Florence did a great job showing us all the neat things to see when you only have a day. Would highly recommend

Our driver did not speak English, but we had two vehicles, but it all worked out since the other driver spoke English. We went to famous sites and great shopping districts, along with eating at a nice authentic Italian restaurant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Katrina was a fabulous guide and shared her vast knowledge with us. She gave us just the right amount of free time and walking tour. She provided information and suggestions for everything we asked about. Fabulous tour

Laura, our guide was amazing, after a mishap with our pick up that was completely the cruise ports fault, it was quickly sorted and Laura went above and beyond to pick up us and whisk us off for the most fabulous day, she was engaging, informative, great fun and very chatty ! She made our day very special.

Italytours.eu was the group we used and they were fantastic! Why? They picked us up from the ship in a small minivan (maximum 8 people) so they could park right next to the center of town in Pisa and Florence. They we combined with one other van in Florence (Firenze) for a walking tour which was fast paced, but packed full of information with the whispers in excellent English so we could hear. We had time at both locations to walk around and do a little looking on our own. Shore days are short and to see two great cities, learn so much and have such great guides with very thoughful plans was amazing. I highly recommend using this tour group for your visits in any city for a private or group tour. They were great!!

The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic but made the tour longer than it needed to be. Perhaps best described as information overload. The logistics of getting to the right place for pickup from the cruise ship were a nightmare. The pickup time according to the email I received a day or 2 before the tour listed the pickup as 8 am but we weren’t due to dock until 9 am. One of our party had phone service in Italy so we called several numbers listed in the email until we got someone to answer. She knew the cruise arrival time and told us the pickup time was 9:30 am. We checked on the cost of the shuttle we had to find as 5 euros each as stated in the email. That was incorrect as it was 7 euros per person. Not a significant amount but the second error in the email. Sloppy!!! When we got off we could not find a sign showing us where to go so we asked a NCL staff member who sent us into the parking lot where there was no place to purchase the tickets needed. We went back to the tent where tickets were being sold for a shuttle to the center of the of town in the port. We were told to buy them and tell the people out side we wanted to go the bus terminal. We did that and were directed to a shuttle bus and told that the first stop would be our stop. The first stop was the center of town and the driver refused to take us to the bus terminal. We called the number we had and were told that if we could find a cab they would wait 15 minutes more. With difficulty we got a taxi ride to our meeting place making the tour start 30 minutes late. Not sure I would ever use trip advisor again. I probably should rate it less than 3 stars but that would reflect even more poorly on the guide who had nothing to do with the pickup fiasco.

Stephania picked us up at the Livorno cruise ship terminal and gave us an excellent fast paced tour of Pisa and Florence! She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in delivering a great tour of these amazing cities. She provided lots of history and stories of these amazing cities, and we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Our tour guide was Stefania from Florence. She was prompt on time that I believe some people were left from the start at the port. Anyhow, she is knowledgeable of her history of Florence and Pisa. She gave us time on our own to observe and absorb the beauty of those places she showed. On return, since she is from Florence , she said goodbye and entrusted us to the driver to return us to the port.
