This was a great experience - we booked the tix - then, on site, added the all-day tram. Discount was applied. Easily accessed getting to the gondola using ship’s free shuttle into Lyttleton then hopped on the #8 bus. After the gondola, hopped back on the #8 to the city bus terminal (clean and user friendly) - tram stop was just a few blocks walk. Tram guide was fabulous - upbeat and knowledgeable. Many options to ‘hop on and off’ all day for sites and eateries.

A Bargain for what you get, especially if you show up when the Gondola Ride first opens around 10am local time. Great views of a first rate NZ city, but also of the amazing landscapes surrounding the city. Highly Recommend (even on a cloudy day)

There is a car park at the base station. Not that big, so a morning ride may be better. If the cloud is not present, the views are excellent and well worth the short ride to the summit. At the summit is a good cafe, shop and also a discovery exhibition which is well worth it. All the staff were brilliant.

Nice views from the summit. Short 2 bus ride from Port. Queues not too bad even though was a cruise ship day

Although the commentary was great, as is the idea of the old trams, they seem to overload the passengers into the trams. Uncomfortable for us bigger people. Nothing like touching knees with strangers. Did enjoy the frequency of the trams to each stop and the service out to the gondolas was great too. Think this is a been and done that once sort of experience

Has a good variety of tasty food and great views! Clean areas. Friendly and helpful staff! Can take bus from the City Interchange.

Usually a line to get on but worth it. The first part of the trail down is a little rough but manageable. Steep but worth it.

Excellent adventure. The staff was helpful and friendly. The view going up was fun. We saw a bunch of sheep and two baby lambs. The view from the top is spectacular. Gift shop and cafe have very reasonable prices.

Great views over Christchurch and its not so high, about 1000 metres. We went for an hour hike to the other side of the mountain and lunched at the restaurant with great views.

I was absolutely terrified on this ride up the hills as I am afraid of heights and it was very windy. The views at the top were well worth the ride.
