Tromsø: Arctic Fjord Fishing & Breathtaking Scenic Cruise

I rarely write reviews, but it’s more than 6 months since going on this trip and my 13 year old has been so inspired that this is now what he adamantly wants to do as a living! The fishing was really superb, but it was the crew and the way they looked after everybody that excelled. My son not only got fully involved with the fish, but learnt about seafaring navigation and helped drive the ship slightly off and on course. This time with the captain and crew, who went on to explain about being a marine engineer with the coastguard, has him fixated on being the same. I can’t thank the crew enough for igniting an incredible passion that I had absolutely no idea was there. You have made such a huge difference! I expect we will have to travel far and return one day, as there’s not been a day since the trip that he hasn’t talked about it. Absolutely brilliant nurture and inspiration… you’ve literally changed his life. An incredible day … thank you!

It was a great trip, everyone caught some cod, saw jellyfish, saw eagles and seagulls diving into the water. We caught a few big cod to have for lunch, delicious. A great time!

We had the most amazing and beautiful day today with our family and the amazing crew of the Hermes2 !!! We caught a lot of fish and saw the white tail eagle !!!

We had a wonderful half day fishing trip. The captain and 2 guides were excellent, very informative and helpful. We caught several large cod! I’d highly recommend it

The boat is beautiful, well maintained, and historic and the crew is friendly and competent. We went to a few different fishing spots, caught a lot of fish and released some of it (I only got one little fish, not sure if I was unlucky or lacked the technique, but other people were a lot more successful, there is definitely fish down there!). The backdrop of sea and mountains was beautiful throughout the trip. It drizzled a bit on and off but they gave us thermal suits that pretty much protect you from all the elements. We had plenty of fish to eat on board (boiled in sea water, simple but good), and even some leftover fresh fish fillets to take home, for those who wanted it. Hot tea, coffee and juice available too during the trip. Learned some interesting stuff about the boat and fishing industry in Norway. Would definitely recommend for those who like fishing and fish (although you don't have to fish, one can also do it as just a boat trip). I would do it again if I find myself back in Tromso.

Great journey , The whole journey was very interesting, and the clothes provided were also warm and waterproof. The caught fish was also made into a dish, which was delicious

This was a fantastic trip. Our tour caught a whole lot of fish and the crew helped a ton! We had coffee/tea/hot cocoa and the fish cakes were really good. The fish we caught, we got to eat literally just an hour later. The only thing I would mention otherwise is, we didn’t go to any of the fjords.

Superb experience with professional and friendly crews. Managed to catch a cod and a red fish. Fishes were delicious and views were extraordinary. The Hermes II boat was tidy, equipments were clean, crews were attentive. Must pay a visit if you love fishing.

Despite the weather not being the most agreeable, the trip was awesome! They got us on some fish quickly and we all caught some fish! I caught 6! The crew made us all feel welcome and took great care of us! I highly recommend this excursion.

It was an amazing experience! The team was very knowledgeable and nice. It was very nice driving around with the boat and explore Tromsø from a different perspective. We caught a lot of fish and had a nice lunch on board as well as could take some of the fish home.
