You should do this tour if you love adventure. Puerto Plata with its charms invites you to experience the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua (27 Charcos), discovered just a few years ago and submerged in the beautiful hills of the northern mountain range, this natural monument is part of the system of protected areas of the Dominican Republic. 27 Waterfalls is hidden up in a tropical canyon is a string of waterfalls that you can hike to and slide down, swim under, and jump off on your way back down. You'll head up with a tour guide who will help make sure you're jumping off of safe spots, might explain some of the history of these gorgeous falls, some of which have ancient legends stemming back from the Taino Indians who first discovered this gem, and from my experience will just make the adventure even more fun.

We came off of the cruise ship and booked this instead of a shore excursion with the cruise line, and I am so glad we did. We had a group of 10 so we were able to move way faster than the other bigger groups, and we saw a lot of people from our ship in passing, meaning we did the same exact thing as them for a lower price!! Our tour guides were so fun, and the photographer was great (scared us a little bit with his shirt saying “I like to shoot people”), but his pricing is so good for what you get. The lunch that was included was authentic Dominican food and was so tasty. They also offered beer for only $5. Afterwards we went to a cigar shop for Mamajuana, cigars, and souvenirs!! It was our favorite activity on our entire cruise ship!!

Great guides, we had Jordan and Felix and the drivers were even better! God bless Wilbert( I believe was his name) and his partner Edwin.

The hike part of this was beautiful and relatively easy. The waterfall/waterslide part of this excursion was not what I hoped or envisioned. There were SO MANY PEOPLE!!!! It was not relaxing or enjoyable--just hundreds of bodies crammed together in the water in a slot canyon. I didn't feel like I could enjoy the experience or the surroundings because I felt like we were just a bunch of cattle being herded through water troughs, over falls and into dirty pools. I swear half the people must have peed in the water, because it smelled like urine. It was so gross! One lady had a serious panic attack from being crammed with so many people with no place to go but through the water. I would not do this excursion again. It was sadly disappointing.

The driver and guide were prompt and friendly. The tour guides at the falls were professional and concerned when I had difficulty hiking. The falls were gorgeous and exactly what we expected.

My family and friends had an unforgettable experience at the Puerto Plata Waterfalls. Our guide, Werbe, was fantastic. From start to finish, he went above and beyond to ensure we were safe and comfortable. His energy, experience, and good humor were spectacular. He is an amazing photographer, capturing wonderful moments. This was, without a doubt, an unforgettable experience in the Dominican Republic. If you’re visiting Puerto Plata, we highly recommend doing this tour and if by chance you have Werbe as your guide, that'd be the cherry 🍒 on top!

Easy pick up from the cruise port. Sammy was Informative and full of stories on the drive to the falls. When at the falls, Def spend the $50 and get your own private paparazzi so the memories will be well documented and leave your phone or camera safe in the van. The hike up is “5 minutes more” 6 times. 🤣🤣 It’s definitely worth it when sliding down the falls or jumping off them. (There are stairs for those not so inclined to jump or slide on the main fall). Good lunch when returning to the lodge and then a nice ride back to the ship after stopping at a small souvenir shop. Def don’t forget your water shoes. Flip flops won’t cut it. You can rent water shoes on site if you don’t have. Over all a great day and highly recommend.

The experience was amazing. There's a workout hike thru the countryside with 2-3 rest stops before you arrive to the beautiful waterfalls. Watershoes required. Even if you dont know how to swim you'll be wearing helmet and lifesavers to make it easy for anyone. The guides are always there helping and the buffet was great representation of what dominicans typically eat for lunch and dont forget to try the dominican beer for $6 called Presidente.

The activity is strenuous and requires good mobility and a healthy heart and ability to climb over a mile and a half of uphill steps in a forest to access the waterfalls. It is a hot environment so you will be sweating. Once you begin sliding into the water at the falls you will be refreshed surprised at the depth of the water. The life vests and helmets are definitely needed. The guides are well experienced and helpful as needed to steer you along.

Driver was very helpful and apart from the climbing at the beginning a great overall experience. Definitely would recommend to my friends.

The driver is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and very polite. Once we get there, we hike and enjoy the unique waterfall. The lunch was delicious too.
