Saona Island Paradise Escape: All-Inclusive Day Trip

The Natural pool and the scenery at Saona Island were very beautiful and we enjoyed our experience. We rated 4 stars and not 5 just because the organization to transfer from one bus to another was not so smoothly in our way back, we had to look for our second driver and wait. Also the beach chairs at the Island need to be updated, they were very old and some of them broken.

Alex was an excellent tour guide! He gave much information about the surrounding area and the history of the Dominican Republic, and he greatly emphasized the importance of tourism to the Dominican economy. He was extremely kind and thoughtful and overall an amazing tour guide. The trip itself was so fun — my favorite part was the natural pool we stopped to swim in. The staff were very nice and came around to each group to check up and ask if we need any drinks. Overall it was an amazing experience due to the awesome staff and people they had around. Everyone had lots of fun! Especially me and my partner. We are looking forward to doing this again in the future.

The tour was so fun and relaxing. The boat rides were so smooth and the rum with the open bar was the best I’ve ever had. Alex was my tour guide and he was so knowledgeable on the history of the Dominican Republic. The natural swimming pool was so nice to swim in and the food provided was delicious!! Definitely one of the highlights of my trip!

Very early start to a long and eventful day, pick up very straight forward. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Alex and Juan our driver. Crazy speedboat ride to a fab sandbank for drinks in the sea then on to saona for the afternoon, the a very lively journey back on the catamaran. Great day.

The cruise was amazing and kind, highly recommend also Republican Dominic people are great me and my family had had a good time

Be prepared for about 100 people on the same bus going to the same tour. Our bus made multiple stops at resorts to pick up additional people. The trip from our resort took about one hour after everyone was picked up. They say that they take you to a nice Private beach in the Caribbean, but the beach is actually very dirty. There wasn’t enough chairs for everyone. There was an outhouse that you could use. It was very dirty. I definitely would never go back there. I think most people who found this beautiful, apparently have never been in the Caribbean anywhere else. The boat that they took us on was very crowded. Then we went to somewhere that they called playing with the starfish. They let us all off in a shallow Clearwater section and there were two starfish. The photographer on the boat is independent and he will try to take photos of everyone to sell it to you later. Don’t fall for this. We all have cell phone cameras if we want pictures. Then they took us to what they called the blue lagoon island. This was nothing more than Caribbean water. They did have a buffet that they served for lunch. The flies were so terrible that it was difficult to eat without swatting flies away constantly. We had to wait for about 30 minutes before the food was actually ready. The food there that they serve was acceptable. And then we took another boat back to the dock. Loud music was playing with dancing. They placed bandannas on our heads. And then came back around and asked for money for the bandannas. If you said no, they took them off your head. I’m assuming these get reused for the next tour. That was kind of gross. All in all what I do it again? Absolutely not

Honestly one of my favorite excursions this trip. I will definitely book with them in the future. Our guide was bilingual so perfect for people that speak English! And he was very friendly and helpful.

Saona itself is beautiful. Clear blue sea and white sand. The tour guide Cristian was great, very funny and really made you feel welcome. The jouney across to Saona was via a speedboat returning via a catamaran which provided great entertainment with a party vibe and dancing. The drinks flowed too! The only negative is the length of time transferring. We were first to be picked up and last drop off so spent almost 5 hours of a 12.5 hour day traveling by bus and only 2.5 hours were actually spent on Saona itself.

Alex was our tour guide and Juan was our driver. Both excellent!! Great service right down to the bartenders, captains, photographers, etc.! Stunning sights!

Alex, our tour guide, and Juan, our driver, were incredibly friendly and provided an excellent history lesson about the Dominican Republic. While the Saona island itself was just okay, the food was decent and catered to everyone’s tastes. There were numerous boat transfers to and from the island, which made the entire experience enjoyable. However, I must emphasize the importance of bringing bug spray, as the mosquitos can be quite pesky.
