Dive Between Continents: Silfra's Crystal Waters Snorkel & Photos
You'll arrive at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once there, you'll take a short journey through the volcanic, moss-laden fields of the park. Here, you will listen as your friendly and experienced PADI Divemaster guide. Later, you'll receive all of the necessary equipment for snorkeling in Silfra, including neoprene hoods and gloves, a thermal drysuit, snorkel and fins. The equipment will keep you buoyant throughout your time in the fissure, as well as offering a protection against the water. Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to swim across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This experience did not disappoint. It was the highlight of this entire journey and it totally exceeded my expectations. From the moment we met Anna we were given very concise instructions and preparation was seamless. She is so professional and personable. Upon entering the water you are led to a magical underwater world. A must do if you’re visiting Iceland.

This was the excursion I was most scared of, but after doing it, I recommend it the most. You WILL feel the freezing cold water in your hands and lower face area but after a minute, everything numbs out and you forget about all the uncomfortable. I highly recommend this experience, it truly is for once in a lifetime. Out guide, Marcelo, was patient and extremely knowledgeable, he truly loves his job and it showed. Try it out, you won’t regret it!

Book this if you are going to iceland! Such an amazing experience. Our guide Marcelo is very friendly and knowledgeable guide, everything was perfect. The water wasnt too cold, and the views are out of this world. We went on February 2026.
