Yelapa & Majahuitas: PV's Breathtaking Snorkel & Beach Escape

We had the best day as part of a Princess Cruise excursion. The crew aboard the board were amazing, fun, and genuinely happy people. The weather was perfect and made the snorkeling, beach time and waterfall an entirely perfect day. Huge kudos to Lucas and his team for their amazing show. It was so fun to watch and topped the day off. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see the beautiful water sites of Puerto Vallarta.

On our first trip to Puerto Vallarta, we joined this excursion on the recommendation of our hotel—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation. It was an early start, but absolutely worth it. The boat ride to Yelapa was beautiful, with a fun and entertaining crew that kept everyone engaged along the way. The short walk up to the Cascada de Yelapa was rewarding—the scenery was breathtaking and the cool water made for a refreshing stop. Afterwards, we relaxed on the beach since hiking further wasn’t an option that day. Before reaching Majahuitas, we enjoyed some snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. Majahuitas itself felt like a hidden paradise, complete with plenty of lounge chairs and cozy spots to unwind. We tried out more activities before being treated to a delicious BBQ lunch. Right after we finished eating, the skies opened up with a downpour. Instead of dampening the mood, it added an exciting twist—we went back into the water and had a blast before returning to the boat. Despite the heavy rain, thick fog, and limited visibility, our experienced captain navigated safely, and the crew kept spirits high with an impromptu variety show. They worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone had a memorable day, and they truly succeeded—it was an adventure we won’t forget.

Went to the Yelapa - Majahuitas tour. We had an amazing time, the staff was very friendly, we did snorkel, then went to Yelapa, walked the colorful streets and enjoyed the famous waterfall, afterwards we arrived to Majahuitas beach, we loved the location there, top notch and with jungles vibes, the food was delicious and savory.

Take a beautiful early September day and add a boat ride in smooth water to a lovely beach. The service and music on board were great. Snorkeling and kayaking were fun activities. The buffet at Majahuitas was delicious. All this made for a good day!

It was a great experience and fun day. They moved us around a lot to stay on track and accommodate everyone's activities so you kinda had to stay in motion but it was overall a great experience and world highly recommend.

Beautiful beaches and waterfall, great BBQ! Crew provided great service and a very fun time! Highly recommend!

Boat ride was great..however stay away from the timeshare sales...other than that Dani and his crew were awsome!!

We had a wonderful time—everything was fantastic, and the crew was absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond and were all incredibly kind and attentive. The only things my friends and I would have changed were the time spent at Majahuitas and the duration of the snorkeling. We were only at Majahuitas for about 1.5 hours, which felt quite short—especially since that was the main reason we booked the tour. Between eating, enjoying water sports, and exploring the beach club, the time just wasn’t enough. On the other hand, the snorkeling portion felt a bit too long, and we would’ve preferred to spend more of that time relaxing at Majahuitas. That said, the food was excellent—very fresh and full of flavor!

Overall a very wonderful experience, I have been on this excursion 3 times and we went back on this excursion 4 years after getting engaged on the beach at Yelapa. Although this time was not as good or special as the last time we went here, it was still a very fun and unforgettable experience. The staff on the boat are absolutely amazing and make you feel right at home, however I was extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with our time at Majauitas ( the second location you visit, for lunch). Last time we went the experience was perfect, but this time for our 4-year anniversary it was quite the letdown. The beach and property surrounding was extremely dirty and there was broken glass and trash all over which is very surprising for a small exclusive Beach. Another disappointment was that the showers to rinse off after being in the ocean do not work. On the positive side, the food there is wonderful. I would still recommend this experience, but I highly encourage Vallarta Adventures to clean up Majauitas and work on the friendliness of the staff specifically at that location. Also while in Yelapa be sure to try the coconut pie and passion fruit margarita!

This trip was so much fun but I only gave 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1) the second stop would had included the waterfall but it was dry so we didn’t walk up to it on the advice of the guide. Instead you could do a little village walk or go to the beach. 2) we opted the beach and it was a short time there with multiple people wanting to sell you things including marijuana, lol. I was really looking forward to the waterfall but with drought, should had expected that it wasn’t running. Other than that, we had a fabulous time! Relaxing at the last beach with the bbq was very nice. Paddle boarding and the banana boat were a lot of fun. The crew was excellent and very experienced at what they do. The performance they put on at the end was hysterical!! All said, I would recommend this and do it again. Oh and make sure you take your id with you to check in and your own towels!
