We really enjoyed our afternoon with Thom and our cyclo drivers. As it is low season, we had them all to ourselves! Thom is really knowledgeable about Hue and the history of the various foods tried. You are taken around several parts of Hue, so not only is it a food tour, there is sightseeing also. Highly recommend this tour ☺️

We had a fabulous time on this tour. Thom provides so much knowledge into the food from the area and cooking tips for the local food we saw in the market it was so fun to hear and learn it all. The selection of food was so tasty trying local dishes from the area and interesting to hear how they compared with other areas in Vietnam and where influences come from. Overall would highly recommend the trip the bikes are fun too so thanks to our drivers. One final thing we thought was really good is Thom is so conscious of ensuring we had clean hands before eating providing wipes/hand sanitizer which we appreciated. Lovely to meet Thom and thanks for welcoming us to Hue!

Thom and his cycle drivers (nicknamed Tom and Jerry) were professional and fun. We felt very safe as they navigated Hue street. They’d do thoughtful things like give us water bottles, make sure we waited at street lights under the shade; wiping down cutlery at various places. Besides the food Thom helped us navigate the grocery store and a local tailor. Another big plus was there was no constant pressure to give a review.

If you’re looking for a food tour of Hue, then look no further. I like to experience a new city when I travel in Vietnam by booking a food tour, and The Hue Flavor Street Food Tour is probably the best I’ve been on so far. The food is excellent, but what elevates this tour is Thom’s enthusiasm for Hue Food and excellent insight. I found the walk through a busy Vietnamese food market very interesting as someone who has been used to buying from Supermarkets back home. You really need to do a street food tour during the morning or afternoon as most of the establishments Thom visits close up from 7pm. Bear this in mind if you are considering one of the rival street food tours which start after 5pm. I’m glad I chose this tour. This is the original Hue Street Food Tour and would be difficult to match.

All the restaurants we stopped at were populated with locals, so the food is the real deal, and all delicious. Thom is a great storyteller and shared insights on Vietnamese food, its history, how it’s made, etc. A thoroughly engaging 4 hours. Totally recommend.
