Smooth cooperation and great customer experience. The itinerary and accommodation can be adjusted to suit your needs. If you’re considering going to Tibet I strongly recommend this agency.

Great Tibet Tours with their sister company Tibet Vista were outstanding. Emily at Great Tibet tours and prior to that Beatrice were so helpful and supportive in helping us arrange our holiday in China and Tibet. I was arranging the trip from Ireland and to have my questions answered satisfactorily and promptly were hugely helpful giving us the confidence, to travel, with neither of us speaking Chinese. Great Tibet tours efficiently arranged our train journeys from Beijing, X’ian to Lhasa and onto Chengdu- suggesting an itinerary. We visited the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors, Everest Base Camp and now on our way to see the pandas in Chengdu. We opted for 4* hotels instead of 3* and I was happy we paid the difference. In Tibet our guide Tashi was super- his high standard of English, sense of humour, positive disposition, deep knowledge of Buddhism and his energy and compassion were exceptional. Tashi is the best guide we’ve ever had and we’ve been fortunate to have travelled all over the world so we’ve had many guides and he stands out. Thank you Great Tibet Tours.

Just got back from Tibet - a truly special place with lovely people. In Lhasa we stayed at the Thangka Hotel which has an amazing location right on the Barkour St pedestrian access. The hotel has nice rooms and in-room oxygen if needed. There is a nice restaurant nearby called Lhasa Namaste. In Shigatse we stayed at another nice hotel called Gesar, also with in-room oxygen available. As to altitude - I was worried because I easily get altitude sickness and I live at sea level. I had a prescription for Diamox which I definitely recommend. The minivan had an oxygen tank which we didn't really use but was nice to have just in case. At Everest Base Camp there is a new medical tent that supplies oxygen and pulse oxymeters for free. If I had known all of this beforehand I would have worried less about lack of oxygen! Great Tibet Tour did an amazing job - I think my best travel experience with a tour to date. There were zero issues and the guide and driver took great care of us.

I did an 8-day group tour through Tibet and I enjoyed it immensely. Everything was very well organized, good accommodations, food and transportation. The guide was knowledgeable and informative and flexible with the wishes of the group. I saw beautiful nature, got to know interesting new cultures and met nice people during my trip. The organization was also helpful in applying for a visa for outside Tibet. Definitely recommended!

Joined this trip during winter time, the weather was super cold but the trip was amazing and memorable! Highly recommend for those who want to explore beautiful Tibet and visit their monasteries. The agent, Merry was responsive on Whatsapp and emails, all questions answered prior the trip. Our tour guide is friendly , he can speak both English and Mandarin, he is caring and have patience with us, good at explaining the history as well as taking good photos for us! Our driver has a good driving skill despite the road conditions were pretty bad, I felt safe during the road-trip.

Tibet is a magical place. The nature, colours and spaces are authentic, real ... it is a treasure in an increasingly standardised world. The travel agency organised everything perfectly, from the pick-up at the airport to the transfers, to small programme changes to meet the needs of the participants. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions! We moved from one location to another by minibus... the driver was really good at driving through zigzagging streets. Winter is considered low season, we were lucky to visit attractions that were never too crowded. Five stars to this agency!

We took the 8 day tour but came a couple of days early to acclimatize. The altitude is no joke. We never met one member of our group as the oxygen and IV didn’t improve her condition and she left for lower heights. Another group member passed out multiple times at the Everest Base Camp. If you can, see your doctor and have him/her prescribe altitude adjustment meds (our started days before we arrived in Lhasa. We also used hydration tablets with electrolytes for our bottles of water. I am a vegetarian and food options were very scarce. Yak meat, milk and butter is in everything. All was well worth the hassle as we had the most incredible guide- Lobsang. I cannot recommend this guide highly enough. He is knowledgeable, has a great attitude and helped us every step of the way. He is delightful. My traveling buddy had knee surgery 11 weeks before our vacation. Lobsang kept an eye on her so that she had support when it was needed. I can’t say enough about our accommodating guide. The driver was lovely, too, and avoided issues as we navigated through crazy driving conditions. I am most grateful to Lobsang as he guided us through a very special vacation.

Want to start by saying that our guide, Mr lapsang, was exceptional. He was kind patient thoughtful knowledgeable punctual and went out of his way to accommodate me and my family. Would definitely request him. The tour itself was a once in a lifetime experience and unforgettable. The itinerary was perfectly planned and executed. Would definitely do another tour with this tour company again and highly recommend Mr. Lapsang.

The natural and cultural beauty of Tibet is beyond compare. This Lhasa-Everest trip was full of information on the culture and history of Tibet. I am so happy that I chose Great Tibet Tour- my travel consultant Jennie always responded quickly to any inquiries. She arranged my transport from the train to hotel and also a special departure time pickup (due to my work schedule). She even checked in on me while I was in Lhasa to see if everything was going well. You will really appreciate having someone you can count on working with you in Tibet, as acquiring the Tibet Travel Permit can be a bit stressful due to the short window that the Tibet Travel Bureau will process the permits. Make sure you have your passport & visa info ready to go and prevent any unnecessary delays! Another reason to choose Great Tibet Tour is that they work with local guides and drivers. My local guides Dorma & Namgel have a love of Tibet's history and culture; and I learned so much from them- it made the tour very special. I enjoyed the local places they chose to eat- some of them I would never have found myself! Both guides and our driver went out of their way to make the small group tour I joined (there were 4 of us) comfortable. There was always plenty of bottled water and oxygen when if you needed it for the high elevations. This trip includes lots of walking, lots of driving, and lots of altitude changes, so be prepared- it truly is a trip of a lifetime!
