A great value for the money. We went to two museums, used the metro and tram and went on the river cruise. The city card worked out great for us!

Don’t recommend this if you aren’t going to take advantage of the tours. It isn’t clearly explained that you have to go pick up a physical card to use the transport. Thanks to generous and kind local folks at the metro we got through the gate when we tried unsuccessfully to scan the QR code we got by email that sounded like the way to use the metro. Repeat difficulty with the Rhone Express airport return, where the conductor didn’t like the QR code that the tourist office person said was all we would need. In retrospect we wished we’d bought the tickets at the kiosks and skipped the city card. We ended up only going to one museum and the priority access was nice.

Guide was knowledgeable and took her time explaining and making sure we all understood. She made it a fun and enriching tour.

Not worth it- delayed incoming flight left us one hour to use the city card. We got to go on one nice boat tour. The tourism office was hard to find. They could not actually secure us a ticket for the boat. We had to race down to kiosk and they charged us for the tickets. All activities close at 5pm or 6pm. Disappointed that we purchased this. Not worth it. Pickpocket interaction on the way to Lyon city center was not cool. Had to call and deal with bank cards afterwards. This segment of our trip was the least satisfactory of our 2 weeks in Europe. Watch u-tube videos on how to prepare yourselves for “pickpockets at train stations”. Only buy this city card if you are arriving early in day.

The City Card made it easy to visit museums and use the metro and busses. The people in the Tourist Office at Plaza Bellcoeur were extremely helpful!

Although getting the Lyon city card was confusing, once I had the card, it was entirely useful. Getting around Lyon is very easy and the tourist options were relaxing and educational. There really should be an easy way to buy the Lyon City Card in a contactless manner on your phone so that a ticket office isn't necessary. I did appreciate the very friendly and helpful staff at Place Bellecour, but when you're traveling with all your stuff and wish to use the metro, a more immediate online purchase option would be most beneficial to users. Hopefully the Lyon metro system will soon develop a contactless method of payment that utilizes your phone, as they do in the UK. The city of Lyon is AMAZING. I LOVE IT. I extended my stay to experience more of it. The Lyon City Card (with transport) definitely improved my experience.

The card itself is great, including most of the sights we wanted to see and an excellent walking tour. However, the process to get the card was very frustrating and time consuming. We purchased the cards in advance and, having arrived at Part Dieu station with suitcases, went to the Part Dieu Westfield shopping centre to collect them as advised. However, we were told that they didn't have enough cards available so sent us on to the nearby Galerie Lafayette (it appeared that they had cards to purchase but not for those who had bought them in advance). The staff at Galerie Lafayette then sent us back to the Wesfield Centre as they did not provide cards for those who had purchased them in advance - they did have them available to purchase though. We were then told we would have to go to the Tourist Office at Bellecour, which was a metro ride away. Not ideal when part of the reason to get the cards was to include the cost of transport in the city and we had to drag our suitcases round all these locations. We then had a considerable wait at the Tourist Office before we were able to get the cards. I would therefore recommend that if you arrive by train, do not buy the cards in advance as it is quicker and easier just to buy them at Part Dieu when you arrive and also your transport from the station will then be included.

The card gave us access to many different venues, our favorite being the Basilica of Notre Dame of Fourvière. The pass included all city transportation and funicular to the Basilica. The boat river cruise was also wonderful. Lots of museums visited and helpful staff at the tourism office.

The walking tour with the experienced guide (Christian) was the best part of my stay in Lyon. I’m grateful that Viator had this package because there’s so much to see and I didn’t know where to start. Viator always has great ideas. The bus passes and public transit map allowed us to visit so many sights. One thing to note, this can be bought directly from the Office of Tourism near Bellecourt. I don’t know if purchasing through here is any cheaper.
