Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and took us to 3 very different port houses where we had time to sample and discuss the wine. The group was quite large but friendly and there was a lot of discussion amongst us whilst tasting. The samples were full measures, not just a sip, and food is not provided other than a biscuit - you may want to take snacks!

We were in a very small group, just us as a couple and a solo traveller. Alex was an amazing guide, friendly and very knowledgeable of all of the history of the Ports we tasted and more. We learned so much and had a brilliant afternoon! Absolutely recommend this as a must do activity while in Porto 🍷

This port wine tasting experience was fun and educational. We tasted some exceptional wines of the Porto area. Recommended.

Alex was amazing, friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. He really made us feel comfortable while giving us a very good overview of what's involved in making Port wine. The selection of Port was good and adapted for every taste. Our personal favourite was a 20 year old tawny port from Vasques De Carvalho, which we were grateful to discover. Alex also advised us on restaurants and places to visit, making it a great opportunity to upgrade our stay in Porto. Five stars from Alexandre and Poppy!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Kevin, the guide, was so knowledgeable and made the tour both fun and informative. It was great to visit different producers and understand their different processes. The selection of port wines to taste was also fantastic.

This was a great day, Kevin our host was fantastic, very personable and relayed his knowledge with flair. I’d 100% recommend this tour if you’re visiting Porto, a fun experience and very very interesting, as well as being able to sample the delicious port wine. Loved it.

We had a larger group of approximately 14 people which our guide Alex managed well. The logistics and tour portions were knowledgeable, succinct focusing on fun and education regarding Port. Alex read the group very well! We would do this tour again in a heartbeat, as we learned, lived and enjoyed our time with new friends.

Amazing experience. Alex was a superb guide, very informative about the history, tasting and everything else you could possibly want to know. We had a lovely group of people on our tour which added to the enjoyment. This was great value for money and I highly recommend.

A leisurely walking tour visiting both established, well known brands, and smaller independent Port caves. Tour guide very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his subject, in the both the history of port and the port manufacturing process. All the way through the tour he made us feel very welcome. Samples were a good introduction to types and ages of port available. Which for a port ‘novice’ like me, was very good. If visiting Porto again, I would go on this tour again.

A great trip to see the port distilleries of Gaia. Alex our guide was fabulous. So informative, friendly and humorous. The whole group of friends, plus a few other couples joined in the fun port tasting. I now know the difference between the different ports and, more importantly, which ones I like best.
