Hanoi's Hidden Flavors: Private Street Foodie Quest

Bob was fantastic, every stop was great food with interesting atmosphere. We had the best Hanoi Street food you could ask for. The following night we went to Tam Vi the Michelin rated restaurant and I can honestly say we had a better experience on Bob's tour. The conversation was great as well, so great to talk to a local.

Our guide Huy was amazing! Our tour was definitely the highlight of our trip. My dad is allergic to gluten and Huy was accommodating of his allergy. His English was great and he customized the tour based on our needs, even meeting us in our French quarter hotel when I reached out to the trip company. I really recommend this experience and Huy in particular very highly! Everything was so delicious and he was very helpful in getting us around Hanoi, answering our questions, and was very accommodating. Very grateful that we had this experience!

Fantastic tour and experience. We would have not found the places we tried on our own. Some of these suggestions are the best in town and far from your traditional tourist traps. Would def do it again. All food suggestions were a hit!

This was awesome! I would recommend doing this early on in your trip and always go private. It allows for three things, 1) you get the lay of the land of your area through a guide 2) you can ask more questions about the culture and the area without disrupting others. 3) flexibility, if you want to off script or try somthing outside the normal tour it’s no big deal. We had Ming/Bob as our guide. We could not have been more impressed. Not only did he make our experience fun and entertaining but he was highly knowledgeable and had a deep understanding of English nuance and pop cultural references. It allowed for really fun banter. We honestly felt like we were just out eating and drinking with a friend. Word of warning, come hungry!! Ming/Bob is going to make sure you eat your fill at several different locations throughout the city, each different and fun. He’ll show you a few staples and a few items we only saw with him. When requesting a guide make sure to ask for Ming/Bob as there are several other guides named Ming. I’m Sure they are great two but they arnt the one and only Ming/Bob.

I had an amazing experience with Mai! She took me around Hanoi and introduced me to so many delicious local foods. Every place she chose was authentic and full of flavor. Mai is friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole food tour unforgettable. Highly recommended!

We had a great food tour with Huy. He took us to the best food and gave us tips on getting around the city. We loved trying new and delicious foods we never would have tried on our own.

Awesome, just like that. Peter showed us the best of Vietnam: the people and then the food. Even though it was raining a bit, he walked us through the Old Quarter with a lot of enthusiasm and presented us with awesome dishes accompanied by a nice history, which you might miss if a local doesn't show you. We learned a lot that day. If you're in doubt, don't think twice, go for it and ask Peter to be your guide.
