Hanoi's Hidden Flavors: Private Street Foodie Quest

Mai was an excellent guide and chose delicious places to eat. She was informative, fun, and flexible. She took us beyond the main streets to some of the hidden alleys of the market. Overall one of our best nights in Vietnam.

We had a brilliant street food walking tour with Peter. He was warm, friendly, and really knew his stuff, sharing stories about each dish and where in Vietnam it came from etc. We especially appreciate that he tailored the menu so we could try new dishes rather than repeats of what we’d already had. Every place felt local and authentic, and the food was delicious from start to finish—O' the catfish and the eel! We'd recommend this tour as it's a perfect way to explore the city and understand Vietnamese food culture.

We had the pleasure of having Mona as our tour guide today. I highly recommend her as she did a great job telling us the history of Hanoi & obviously taking us to the best places to eat in Hanoi. We LOVED EVERY PLACE SHE TOOK US! We made note of each spot & plan on returning to them. Mona was not only informative & friendly but extremely patient as we had a 4 & 7 year old whom were very tired! Super happy with this tour & would highly recommend for someone who is looking for good food in Hanoi!

There are only four foods included so don't know why it says ten. The trip lasts less than 2.5hrs. This makes it very expensive for what it is.

We did this walking street food tour on our very first evening in Hanoi, and it turned out to be the perfect introduction to the city. Not only did we get to try a variety of street foods that gave us the confidence to explore more on our own in the following days, but our guide also helped us adjust to Hanoi. From learning how to cross the bustling streets safely to walking along the edge of the road rather than the narrow, crowded footpaths, it was as much a lesson in navigating the city as it was a culinary adventure. Our guide Chung was friendly and adaptable. We enjoyed chatting to him about life in Vietnam. The food stops were all carefully chosen, offering a mix of flavors and dishes that we might never have found by ourselves. Doing this tour right at the start of our visit made such a difference, we felt immediately more oriented and less overwhelmed by the chaos of the Old Quarter. I’d highly recommend booking this tour upon arrival in Hanoi. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the city’s energy, try fantastic food, and pick up essential local tips that make the rest of your stay much easier and more enjoyable.

Linh was a great guide. She was very attentive to our tastes and was ready to tailor the tour based on any likes or dislikes. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the local food and where to find it. Would highly recommend her. This was a great way to start our trip in Vietnam.
