Peter, our guide, was amazing and sprinkled facts about New Zealand history, agriculture and geography along with Lord of the Rings lore. Due to an old ankle injury I opted not to climb the full way up the mountain but had an incredible time nonetheless. I encourage everyone to take this tour for the sights, sounds and education.

Long drive out to Mt Sunday, with a fairly steep climb up to the top. But the views were totally worth it. It's really windy at the top, be prepared with a good jacket and good shoes. The tour operator also provided hiking poles, which was very helpful. Will definitely recommend this tour.

One of the best things we did in New Zealand! We had a wonderful time getting to see Edoras and the New Zealand countryside. Our guides were super nice and helped everyone take photos. They gave us interesting facts along the way and provided tips on how to hike up the hill. It isn't the easiest hike if you don't like going up but its really not that bad. Prepare for wind though!

Our tour guide Peter was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. We appreciated the history he gave of Christchurch and the surrounding areas.

A full day of sightseeing on the way to Mt. Sunday ending with a brief hike to the top and plenty of time to take in the incredible scenery. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

A magnificent and enchanting experience, and possibly the best day of my life! It was so precious to make an LOTR pilgrimage with a minibus full of people who cherish this story just as much as you do. Our tour guide Nick was so friendly, kind and helpful, and so was our driver, Peter — I appreciated his sharing of little geographical and historical tidbits with us. Both of them were so funny and upbeat as well, which really added to the overall tour experience. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my day and I didn't want it to end. It was worth every penny and then some; I would do this again in a heartbeat, and I will recommend it to everyone I know. I will never forget the day I finally made my pilgrimage to the home of the horse lords, thank you for making it possible! Forth Eorlingas!!!

Amazing day. Great guide. The destination is beautiful and remote and not touristy at all. Only a small handful of people there.

If I could rate this experience 100 out of 100, I would! Nick was such an awesome tour guide. You can tell he really loves what he does and he made the experience that much better. The trip out to Edoras was comfortable and I learnt some awesome facts about the making of The Two Towers. My mum did struggle with the walk up to Edoras and I was grateful to Nick for staying back with her for a few minutes, talking to her and making sure she was comfortable. It was awe-inspiring seeing where Edoras came to life and the breathtaking views! It really is a trip I will never forget. Thank you again Nick and Hassle-free tours for an unforgettable experience!

A must do tour for LOTR fans. Also involves hiking and its a nice combination. Cheryl our guide was great and highly knowledable. She also gave us some free time on the hill itself to soak the atmosphere.

You need to be inn reasonable shape, especially hips, knees and ankles, to climb to the summit. The wind at the summit will be somewhere between 0 and 120 km/hour, so be prepared. Having said that, the view is worth it.
