Bilbao's Best Bites: Authentic Pintxos & Wine Immersion

This was a great small group tour with a lot of good food, drinks and interaction with the guide and the other travelers. I would recommend this tour for anyone traveling to Bilbao.

Irena was an excellent guide - her enthusiasm was contagious. She is LOCAL and proud of her heritage.

Pintxos (think small tapas) are an important experience in Basque Country. This tour provided an excellent opportunity to find out what they are all about. The tour leader was knowledgeable, charming and entertaining. It was a perfect tour for an evening (and dinner option) in Bilbao.

Leire is a Basque local and fantastic guide to the pintxo food culture in Bilbao. We visited 5 pintxo bars/restaurants and had 2 pintxos at each. Wine pairing were offered at 4 of the stops and Basque cider at the fifth (fun experience pouring the cider). Leire is a bubbly, smiling, friendly, enthusiastic guide. Couldn't have asked for a better person to guide us for our 3 hour experience. She shared some history of the region and the food. Her knowledge really added to our experience. We even know a few Basque words now! The places and pintxos were unique and absolutely delicious. Certainly would not have know to order these on our own. So happy we we able to have this experience with a local!

Leire is a wonderful guide. She's bright and cheerful and very knowledgeable about her city and the great food there. We went to 5 pintxo bars/restaurants, with 2 pintxos at each and wine pairing (also one with cider). The food was delicious. We were very satisfied and full by the end of the experience. Leire brought us to places that offered something a bit different that what you might find on your own as a tourist. Some really incredible bites and flavors.

We had a wonderful introduction to pintxos with stops at 5 bars and 10 amazing pintxos. Ire was an enthusiastic guide who explained everything.

Outstanding tour! Our guide (Le?) was excellent and had a natural gift to be enthused about the Basque food, the history and her country. She was a delight. The tour was at least 3.5 hours of tastings and wine. No one was pouring lightly. The pincxos were fabulous and a large variety of cheeses, sausage, meat and plenty of seafood. Le double checked allergies at each stop and even those who did not care for an item such as scallops. A headcount was taken and alternative pincxos were provided. We were quite full by the 5th stop for Basque cheesecake and, quite inebriated. Uber from the port was about 25 minutes and we were back in plenty of time. We even learned some Basque words! In summary, we would do this again and advise you to be adventurous and book this tour.

Lots of good food, you must come hungry. Walking in old town to several wine bar restaurants. A must!

Everything was as advertised, and more! Irene was so knowledgeable and friendly, and she led us to 5 unique & delicious spots. We enjoyed a diverse array of pinxtos, from traditional to innovative. 3 full hours at a relaxed pace. It was certainly plenty for dinner. The drink offerings were also interesting, a nice sample of the diverse drinks available in this gem of a region. At tour’s end, Irene suggested additional spots for us to try. Excellent customer service as well: when our travel schedule became shaky, just 24 hours before our reservation, they quickly & easily rescheduled us.

Olaia was a wonderful host with lots of great stories and information about the basque culture and history. The food was excellent.
