The Opera House is an amazing building which has to be seen in person to appreciate. A book written by Peter Fitzsimons about its design and construction is a very informative read.

This was an excellent tour. The guide was enthusastic, spoke perfect and easily understandable English, knowledgeable and loved his subject, and flexible, willing to adjust when a special opportunity presented itself to watch over 1,000 children practice for a parent concert in the large theater. TOTALLY AWESOME!!

Enjoyed hearing the history and getting into a couple of the venues. It’s stunning! Decided to take in a show because of the tour. Very happy we did both.

Expect to be wow if you have Peter as a guide who was exceptionally knowledgeable, had many fun facts about performances, history architecture, and had a great sense of you as well

I was completely enamored by the architecture and the history of the building, good and bad. And to know that the 90 meter ceiling can drop 1/2 way to accommodate orchestral acoustics is amazing. More performing arts centers need to adopt this idea! Beautiful and well worth the effort and time.

To check-in for the tour, please arrive to the Welcome Centre on the Lower-Concourse of the Sydney Opera House precinct for the 1-hour Guided Tour and exchange this voucher for your tour ticket. It is recommended to arrive approximately 10 min prior to your scheduled departure time. Please note, the tour can contain approximately 300 stairs and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please ensure you have selected the correct language option for the tour you want to experience. If you can not understand the language of the tour, you may be refused entry to that tour time. You can contact the Sydney Opera House reservations team to discuss further. If you are undertaking the Tour & Dine experience, you will receive a printed ticket on check-in at the Welcome Centre which can be redeemed for your main meal and drink at one of the harbour facing restaurants.
