Excellent tour guide. The guide was patient with the group since they spoke different languages- English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Marcos was a brilliant guide and showed me around the markets and explained everything really well. I ate so many different things and it was all so tasty. I particularly loved the sopa de Lima and the Gordita. Mostly I appreciated his warmth and hospitality and I felt really comfortable exploring. I am learning Spanish and I loved how Marcos shared information in both languages. Really recommend this tour to enrich your experience of beautiful Merida.

Our afternoon tour with Marcos was so delightful and the perfect way to sample the authentic flavors of Mérida. The stops and food selections were the perfect mix of food and beverage to keep us cool in the mid-afternoon heat. It's clear that he has a wonderful relationship with the various vendors in each of the markets, who were all so friendly and welcoming. As the name implies, it's a walking tour, which you'll do plenty of, but just about all of the food stops are seated so there are opportunities to rest throughout. Prior to the tour, Marcos inquired about any food allergies or sensitivities. I have to avoid most wheat products, which wasn't really an issue at most stops (corn is king in Yucatán), but even at the stop when we tried some delicious cochinita pibil that normally comes on a type of French bread, they were able to accommodate and serve it as a taco on a corn tortilla instead - so tasty! Our group had a total of 6 people plus Marcos. There were the two of us (bilingual English-Spanish) from the United States, another English-speaking couple from the U.S., and a Spanish-speaking couple from Mexico City, but Marcos seamlessly switched back and forth between the two languages, keeping everyone engaged. Overall, a superb value with plenty of delicious, authentic Yucatecan cuisine, so bring your appetite! Since the tour involves sampling smaller servings of the various foods, we thought we might still need to make dinner plans for later in the evening after the tour, but we were thoroughly satiated and couldn't even think about eating again. We would honestly do the tour all over again our next time in Mérida.

Marcos was great! We had a great time. Just enough walking. Kept us hydrated. We were definitely full by the end of the trip!

Marcos was absolutely stellar! Amazing and authentic experience. Bilingual English and Spanish. Great way to try all the different foods. Very knowledgeable of the history of the region as well.

Laura was a wonderful guide. She was very patient as we had one family member having difficulty walking. We toured the areas around Plaza Grande - the food was local and amazing. Laura also had a wealth of knowledge about Merida, the Yucatán and its surrounding areas. We enjoyed her tour very much.

Fantastic tour with some really good food! Better to let a local tell you where to get really good cochinita pibil!
