Start your day at Nakupenda Island (Sandbank), where you can unwind on a beach that disappears with the tide. Set sail aboard a Swahili dhow, sipping on ginger-spiced tea, refreshing juices, homemade bread, and tropical fruits. Dive into the crystal-clear waters for some snorkeling, then enjoy local fruits, snacks, and a buffet of Swahili cuisine with soft drinks. Next, head to Prison Island (Changuu Island) to explore the historic ruins of the old slave prison and meet the Aldabra giant tortoises, once owned by Sultan Said Majid. Wrap up your day with a historical walk through Stone Town, visiting landmarks such as the Old Market, House of Wonders, Tippu Tip House, and the Old Fort, while immersing yourself in Zanzibar's rich history and culture.

Really great trip! Guides are super welcoming and friendly. They make you feel very comfortable. The tour is informative and so much leisure time too! The lunch on the sandbank was incredible, they cook right in front of you. Overall, fantastic trip. Thank you Cappuccino!!

It was a simple trip, if you are expecting an over the top luxurious activity it is not for you, but I had fun, lovely people, very kind, good food. I enjoy the day.

It was pretty nice. We met at the pickup point and then went on the boat ride to vanishing island, had fun swiming and snorkeling there (you'll have to swim a bit far out for this though) and then we had a sea food lunch (which is like 70% chips/30% seafood tbf so don't count on this to be your actual meal, just enjoy the experience of eating on an island that's slowly being taken by the waves). After that we went to prison island, which has it's own separate cash entry fee that you need to pay in the beginning. We toured the prison and then went to the little park with tortoises and peacocks. After that our tour guide walked us through stone town, explaining the buildings and history and then walked through the markets and did some shopping, with the trip finally ending at the building freddy mercury was born. Honestly the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars was because we paid for the hotel pickup option (we were a group of 6 so it was 60 dollars extra!!), and they said there was no pick up since we were close, and to just walk, so we walked. They gave us each a 5$ discount on the prison island entry feed (so 27 to 22) to make up for this, but we were never refunded the remaining 30$ so it's kind of left a bad taste, but overall the trip itself for us was nice.

June 2025 This was a great excursion for the day. We were able to enjoy the surrounding waters of Nakupenda. The water on one side of the sand bar is a breathtaking blue yet crystal clear, warm bath water and I’m not other side. There are more waves, but equally as beautiful. Our guides also provided delicious fresh fruit, seafood, and homemade fries for lunch. I couldn’t get enough.😊. Our next stop was prison Island., which is packed full of history and rare animals. Our third stop was Stone Town and regrettably, we did not have enough time to actually get into the tour as we stopped due to most of us being exhausted from the event earlier in the day and a bit of a late start. I recommend knowing what you want to see and where you would like to spend more time before you begin your day. Our guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and fun. Thank you, Adam, for keeping the atmosphere light and moving.
