St. Catherine city has a high spiritual significance as a result of its location near Moses Mountain. Enjoy the Beautiful landscape all the way from Sharm El Sheikh and visit the oldest monastery in the world! St. Catherine's Monastery lies on the Sinai Peninsula, at the mouth of a gorge at the foot of Mount Sinai in St. Catherine's City. The monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This monastery is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. The monastery was built by order of Emperor Justinian I, enclosing the Chapel of the Burning Bush ordered to be built by St. Helen, the mother of Constantine I, at the site where Moses is supposed to have seen the burning bush; the living bush on the grounds is purportedly the original. It is also referred to as "St. Helen's Chapel". The site is sacred to Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Worth every penny! Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and take this private tour. Our guide Mohammed is incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt. He taught us not only about Saint Catherine but about Egypts history and culture. The tour includes an incredible lunch in Dahab at the Ali Baba Restaurant overlooking the Red Sea. Lunch was amazing and so delicious!! We were picked up in an air conditioned car from our hotel and returned directly to our hotel. It was an unforgettable experience. 5 stars!!!

Our tour was incredible. Everything was exactly on time as promised. Mohammed is an archeologist who speaks 5 languages. He not only explained everything about Saint Catherine’s as we went through, he also explained about Egypt and her history and culture itself on the drive there and back. The lunch at Ali Baba’s Restaurant after Saint Catherine’s was superb and next level. A delicious sampling of Egyptian cuisine overlooking the beautiful Red Sea in Dahab. Mohammed always gives you free time to look and wonder on your own. Do yourself a favor and spend the money for this private tour. You ride in a private air conditioned car, the tour is at your pace, and personalized to you and your questions. Mohammed even took pictures of my wife and I at all the important areas. I 100% recommend this tour!!!!

It was a great day with Ahmed and Mohammed our guide. Mohammad packed in so much history and cultural insights during the drive and the visit to the monastery. We learned way more than we expected. He taught us a lot about the Bedouin culture and facts about Egypt today and in its history. Ahmed was a smooth driver and easy pick up. It starts a bit early but it’s worth it to beat most of the crowds from the other tours. The drive even though a bit long, goes by very quick as the Mountain views are stunning. Do this if you’re in Sharm!

What an amazing and wonderful day! If you are staying in Sharm and wish to visit St Catherine’s Monastery then you really must book this. We were picked up from our hotel (it was an early start) and drove to St Catherine’s. Just the two of us with Nabil (our expert guide and an archaeologist) and Ahmed our driver. The visit to St Catherine’s was fantastic as was the lunch in Dahab (I have booked many tours with lunch included, in many places and this was without doubt the best I’ve ever had) There was time to ourselves to walk and shop before returning to Sharm. We booked this tour because we wanted to see the Monastery, Mount Sinai and the landscape but we got so much more. Not only was Nabil our guide so knowledgeable about where we were and what we were seeing (you could could ask any question and get an in depth expert answer) but he also taught us about Egypt generally, it’s people, culture, history and values. We cant recommend this experience highly enough.

It was an early start and a long drive but it was interesting to see some of the countryside and the drive through the mountains was pretty impressive. St Catherine's was definitely worth the drive and it wasn't too busy with other tourists so the early start was worth it. Lunch in Dahab was nice with the restaurant overlooking the sea. The food was OK and the shops were no different to other shops elsewhere in Sharm which were selling pretty much the same things. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of info about the history, the culture etc. All in all, a good trip and we are glad we went.

Lead by guide, Nabil, with our careful driver Abrahaim, this was a fantastic tour of St Catherine’s Monastery and Dahab. Nabil is very knowledgeable about the Sinai Peninsula, its history and its people; along with the monastery, its history and the artifacts in the transfiguration church, the library and the icon gallery. He is also patient, respectful and gives you enough time to view things on your own and help you take pictures, when allowed. You’ll also have a great lunch at Ali Baba in Dahab.

Excellent day trip. Great communication prior to the trip which included confirming the pick up point at hotel and what to bring (passport and given the starter 6.00am a breakfast box). Both the guide (Mohammed) and the driver were excellent . Ample stops en route which included one to have breakfast. St Catherine’s was wonderful to see . The icons and books were stunning (and well presented both in the church and the museum). The journey through the Red Sea Hills was very scenic. Lunch in Dahab was very pleasant sitting right by the sea. All in all a great day that was made even better by the informative and friendly guide and super safe driving by the driver.
