Willemstad Unveiled: UNESCO Charm, Views & Culinary Bliss

This tour was exactly what I was looking for to give me a window into the history of Curaçao and see downtown Willemstad via a guide. I am traveling with my 9-year-old son, so the 1/2 day tour sounded perfect for what he would tolerate. Our guide and driver were wonderful. We were a relatively small group, which made it easy to hear our guide and quickly move around. We booked the tour about two months in advance. Booking was easy. Pickup and drop off from our hotel was totally smooth. I would definitely recommend Irie Tours and this particular tour.

The guide tour Lisa was great, provided lots of interesting information about the history of the island. Also was funny and punctual with pickup and drop off times.

Guide Martha was great!! So was our driver, Marlon, who took the time to drop us off in good locations. We learned interesting history of Curacao and visited the Curacao distillery for tastings! We even shopped in Willemstad and I found great prices on bathing suit cover ups! Enjoyed our half day!

Fun to hear the island history and get to go downtown. Encompasses Willemstad. Lovely art and locals are friendly.

Had an amazing time. Went on 3/24/25 and the tour guide and driver were wonderful, had great energy. This wasn’t 100% waking, some of it was a bus tour, then we walked a little bit. My only suggestion is that when we are out walking on the street he has some sort of speaker to make it easier for all of us to hear him. After we got out to walk, had more of bus tour and then stopped to do a liquor tasting and it was delicious, and the bathroom facilities here were clean (ladies room). Also learned about history of the island and got to order drinks and get souvenirs…. Recommend getting them here as I noticed the other places didn’t have all the flavors. From here we had lunch and was a nice local vibe with many options. We had to pay for lunch but it was a good price. Recommend having about $25 USD per person. Mine was $24 for two people but we didn’t get drinks.

The Discover Willemstad tour was nothing short of amazing! Angelo was a highly enthusiastic and engaging tour guide who took us through all parts of the city and shared its rich local history. It was a great learning experience while enjoying the beauty of the island. Additionally, the authentic local lunch was delicious! I highly recommend this excursion!

I’m so glad my friends and I decided to go on this tour. The tour guide Angelo was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was clear with his instructions and made everyone feel comfortable. Debby was a rockstar as well! We felt safe riding with her. We learned so much about Curacao on this tour and was able to taste some of their local dishes. We were able to take some beautiful pictures and even drove next to a bus of children on their way to school, who showed us so much joy. I recommended this tour to anyone who would love to know Curacao’s history.

Our resort was outside of the city center, so taking this tour on our first full day on the island was a great way to start our vacation. Our driver and our tour guide, Marsha, were fun and very informative. We rode and walked all about Willemstad, exploring the culture, art, and history of the area. There were plenty of opportunities for beautiful photographs. We had lunch at Plasa Bieu,, a market with numerous food stalls. Here, we had our best meal at Mom’s Kitchen, where the fried snapper and oxtails were cooked to perfection. We also made a short stop at the Curaçao Liqueur Distillery. There wasn’t much to see, but we got to sample the island’s famous liqueur. There was also a bar and food stand for purchase. There was a wide variety of tasty mixed drinks for purchase. THe French fries were delicious.
