New Orleans: Darkest Secrets, True Murder & Crime Tour

Carlo told us some crazy true crime stories about many of the French Quarter residences. He is a great storyteller and we really enjoyed this tour!

Lots of fun. Lots of info. Take a water if it's hot. They had a poncho we could take in case of rain. Carlo was knowledgeable and fun!

Carlo was a fabulous storyteller and we enjoyed the deep connections he has to the city, the people, and the stories he is telling about the true crimes in the New Orleans French Quarter.

We had a very good time on this tour! We loved learning all the stories of famous murders in New Orleans. So surreal to actually see places where things happened and hear the gruesome details. Loved going to Jean Laffitte's Bar too and enjoyed drinks and music on the piano. Lovely night in the French Quarter.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable of New Orleans true crime. Stories were factual. Would highly recommend.

Mikko was very funny and personable. Not afraid to make jokes and small talk. We had a very quiet and intimate tour with just us as a lesbian couple and Mikko. You may win bonus points if you know 70’s rock band lore. Also the shoppe cat Norma is so cute and fluffy.

It is really challenging to figure out what kind of “spooky” walking tour to take in New Orleans. I wanted something that would be scary enough for my horror-loving teen and also not too cheesy. When my kid was a pre-teen, we enjoyed “ghost tours” in other southern cities (Savannah, Charleston) and they can delve into cheesy pretty quickly. I read a lot of reviews and decided that the “true crime” aspect of this tour was appealing. Since there was an age restriction (over 16,) my hope was that it would hit the right balance of scary, but not cheesy for our group. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made point to tell us the facts of each case. If he delved into speculation, he always made a point to say that-I did appreciate that the stories were true. However, in an effort to state the facts, sometimes the experience lacked shock value/delivery. Sometimes he jumbled the stories/repeated information that he already said or got the sequence of events mixed up. I can appreciate that if you’re doing multiple tours in a day, but I expected more for what we paid. He did admit and apologized that he was a bit distracted, but it made me wonder if we would have been happier with another tour altogether.

Mikko was an amazing guide. We loved the stories. He was very informative about the city of New Orleans.

Came to New Orleans for a weekend trip and decided to take the crime tour. Our tour guide Dane was INCREDIBLE! He was so knowledgeable and funny and made our experience amazing. Would definitely recommend!!
