San Sebastian's Ultimate Pintxos: Old Town Gourmet Journey

I was visiting my daughter who had recently moved to a town close to San Sebastian. We decided to take this tour at the last minute and I could not have been more pleased that we did! I was a little hesitant since my experience with these types of tours has been that they take you to the most "touristy" spots or there is a connection to certain places they take you to. This was very different. Clara was wonderful! Not only did she take us to some of the best spots in San Sebastian but her knowledge of food, wine and the Basque culture was extraordinary. Her stories were so interesting-both food and history. She also went above and beyond after the tour ended (which was late!) to find us an open spot to have a late night drink. She truly seems to enjoy this job! I can't recommend this tour enough! In fact, I will be back in April with my husband and son (who is a professional cook) and I plan to take them on this tour. And, if I were to guess, I'd bet we may go to some different spots. I feel like one thing that made this tour different is that it may change based on what's open and available-unlike other tours of this type. This was one of the highlights of my week!

A great way to get into Pintxos and to taste the best selection in each bar! Esther was super lovely and we got to eat an amazing variety of unique Pintxos without having to make reservations or stand in queues. She was very knowledgable about the local bars, their history and owners, but also San Sebastian in general and Basque culture. It just felt like spending an evening with a local friend! Highly recommend.

Our pintxos tour was amazing. Our guide, Clara, was wonderful - accomodating, knowledgeable, great fun, and expertly guided us to a diverse range of venues. We experienced a fantastic selection of pintxos and wine, all of which were great. Clara also enriched the experience by sharing fascinating details about the history of San Sebastián, as well as the Basque people, their unique language, and culture. I highly recommend this tour.

We really loved this experience from my 10 yo to our parents in their 70s. It was a lot of food and we had a good variety of different tapas. The guide also gave us a lot of history and context, while also offering her personal recommendations on what was good. I thought I submitted a review on my phone with photos. Not sure why it's still showing as not reviewed on my web profile.

We actually had pintxos the previous evening but the places that Montse took us were so much tastier. She gave us a unique perspective on the Basque culture and customs and how they differ from the rest of Spain. She even gave us recommendations for the next days so we got 2 tours in 1!

We went on this Pintxos after reading the recommendations online and indeed the tour did not disappoint! We had a wonderful Tour Guide called Sara, she hand picked all the pintxos bars we went to where we were treated to amazing array of Basque food. Each mouthful was a delight.. it was also a brilliant way to see the old town of San Sebastian and get a feel for the area. Subsequently, we were able to visit some of the restaurants we had been to on this tour. I would definitely recommend this to anybody visiting San Sebastian.

Incredible food tour thru Old Town w Esther. The food and wine choices were perfect and Esther was outstanding !!!!

Be sure to bring your appetite! Our guide, Carla, was knowledgable, enthusiastic, and took us to places we would not have found on our own. We sampled a great variety of local flavors and ended the tour with a fabulous Basque cheesecake. Well worth it!

Simply fantastic Sara was exceptional! This is absolutely worth doing. What a delicious, social, and fantastic evening.
