Merida Foodie Expedition: Authentic Street Eats & Culture

Wonderful morning with Gisell. Visited market and tasted many local foods, spices, and local drinks. Learned a lot in just a couple of hours about this region.

We had our fantastic food tour with Gisell, who gave us a lot of background and not only answered our food related questuions but also about culture, people and history. We enjoyed the tour very much and the amount of stops to taste even spices and herbs was exceptional, we did a lot of tours in other parts of the world already but this was definitely one of our best.

Luz is a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. Thanks to her, we hat the best start in our 3-weeks Mexico trip. We tried the most popular street foods of Yucatán, which was later helpful to know what to order when we were traveling on our own.

Luz , our guide, really manage to transmit her passion for Mexican food . We visited markets and ate plenty of delicious food from different stalls ( they all have their specialties). We learnt a lot about the dishes and the ingredients. No foodie can miss this!!!! Thanks, Luz!!!!

Great experience. Guide was welcoming and knowledgeable. Differently ate a lot of dishes. Highly recommend eating a lite breakfast.

Wonderful and delicious. Zulma showed us all around the market of Merida. We tasted many different foods, drinks and spices. Finished with a very good ceviche and surprising flavors at the ice-cream parlor.

We speak only a little Spanish and thus are very glad to have participated in this tour, where the gilde can speak English. She was very helpful and knowledgable. We were able to taste some of the best streetfood from the stands at the local market - which we otherwise would never find by ourselves. We were introduced to typical spices in local dishes, tasted various tropical fruits and candies, got the for lunch the most delicious, well prepared cerviche in my life, and finally finished the tour with nice icecreme. The guide gave us some tips about restaurants and told us about a cultural event in the evening, which we might miss otherwise. We would totally recommend this tour to food-lovers as us.

Luz was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the local foods nd traditions.we had a wonderful tour. We loved the local market and lunch was authentic and delicious.
