We stayed at an air bn'b in the Monastiraki region, very close to the Acropolis on the hill. After arriving late, we ventured to Acropolos in the morning, was very pleasantly suprised how much there was to see & was taken aback by the theatre. So pleased also that the weather was good, (14/16°), could easy invisage being here with the heat & crowds in summer, which would put alot of people off, as the steps are pretty narrow in places. There is work going on within the main temple itself & it did like the crane & scaffolding inside hadn't seen action for a long while! The area around hill was quite commecial & towards town hall, (where we watched their 'changing of the guard') was to be expected, but towards Monisteraki from hill was very 'greek' with ample places to eat en route. The next day we took a 20 min walk to the orange KTEL Attikis bus stn down to the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio. (2 hrs 20) It was windy & a bit chilly, (definately coat weather). It was well worth visiting the temle & nearby Athena remains, but was given 4 hrs there, which was far too much. Our bus broke down on way back, but fortunately the cable car track ran parrallel with the main road so most of coach headed across the way to nearby station. On our last day i think we'd saved the best till last, where we took a guided minibus tour to Delphi (2hrs+). Absolutely stunning place to visit & very unspoilt, the weather was warm. Mythologically, its where greece begins.. Not good for people who struggle in the 'leg region' as site itself runs up a steep incline with large steps in areas. At the very top there is a running track, which is a complete suprise. Stunning views & lots of imformation to soak in. Note, there is alot of unsightly grafitti in Athens, in many areas, but like people that live there, you have to see through it all. If you like it tho' look up ENO. But the Athenians are very nice & like a chat, restraunts are good, bakeries (wow!) & spending can be either/or, depending what area you venture in. We loved it!!!

Our tour guide Jason was excellent. He was knowledgeable, humorous, and considerate. The physical demands of walking up the paths of the Acropolis to get to the top and see the Parthenon are challenging and not for everyone. Jason went at a pace that was comfortable and enjoyable for all. His tour wound up the Acropolis museum and he was again wonderful in explaining the highlights that made the experience satisfying. I highly recommend Jason and this itinerary.

An excellent tour with a great guide (Thankyou Pietros). The pace of the tour was perfect given the climb. Made as accessible as possible. Very informative. And the museum was incredibly interesting.

Worth the money. About 4 hours with museum entry. Our guide Yulia was fantastic, she was very informed and didn’t rush through anything. A nice pace and not a crowded tour.
