We had a wonderful time on the Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens! Rachel was a delightful and knowledgeable host and grew up right in the area we toured. So many people knew her every where we went, and she shared interesting details both about the foods we tasted and the various stores and merchants we saw. We had plenty of food to eat and such a wide variety. We highly recommend this tour and could not be more pleased that we had Rachel as our host! Don’t miss it!

We loved Rachel and this tour so much!! It was a great way to start our trip in Athens. Rachel was so knowledgeable, not only about the food and the markets but she really taught us so much about Greece in general. Rachel was honesty the best tour guide we’ve ever had! The places we visited were all wonderful and she had so many tips about where to eat and what to get it was fantastic. This is a can’t miss tour you should take when visiting Athens!

My wife and I had so much fun on our tour with Rachel. She was so knowledgeable and so kind. We never felt rushed, or directionless. There was a thorough plan, and she is partner/friend to all the store and shops you go to. She was literally treated like an employee at most of the venues because she was so respected by each of them. Her and her husband run a first class operation. We looked through many food tour options, but we are so glad we landed on this one!

Great tour! Even on a rainy day, we still hit all the stops and Michael was very knowledgeable about the area and all things food! Come hungry and you won’t be disappointed!

If you’re visiting Athens, this is the tour to book — an absolute must for anyone wanting a true taste of the city. Mike, our guide and a proud native of Athens, transformed what could have been a simple food tour into an unforgettable cultural immersion. His deep love for his city was evident in every stop and every story he shared. We didn’t just sample Greek food — we experienced it the way locals do. Each tasting took place in small, family-run shops and restaurants, many passed down through generations. That made all the difference. The flavors were authentic, traditional, and prepared with the kind of care you only find in places where recipes are treasured family legacies. It felt less like a tour and more like being welcomed into the heart of Athens itself. Mike was incredibly patient and gracious with our group — especially as we lingered (often!) to browse and purchase items at nearly every stop. He never rushed us and made the entire experience feel relaxed and personal. And come hungry! You absolutely do not need breakfast beforehand, and you certainly won’t want a heavy dinner afterward. Even my husband — who can truly eat — couldn’t finish everything offered. The abundance and generosity were remarkable. This tour is a delicious, meaningful, and beautifully curated introduction to Greek food and culture. We left not just full, but deeply appreciative of the traditions and people behind every bite. Yiamas (Γεια μας) Highly, highly recommend.

The only reason I gave this a 5 is because it didn't go any higher!!! Mike was amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and fun! Lots of stops and lots of tastings! And the sit down MEZE meals were so delicious and filling! Loved the fish and meat market, the spices, the honey, the olives... well, we loved the entire thing! There were six of us, and we were all full by the end! My favourite was the calamari, but the yoghurt with honey was a close second 😉 Mike did have loads of info and facts about the foods and their production, plus history of the areas and anecdotes - and he was patient with our questions and teaching us Greek words! Would definitely recommend bringing an empty bag to carry your purchases, and comfortable shoes. The tour was very worthwhile and fun! Highly recommend this tour!

We loved the authentic Greek food, and Rachel brilliantly explained the history and traditions of the area. A must do on a trip to Athens

Wonderful tour with "Mike" today... And, not just about food! Lots of interesting background about how Greek food place a part in culture and religion. A trip to the Central market was on my list of things to do here in Athens. Touring with Mike was an exceptional experience as he provided commentary about where the food originates from. Also, go hungry! You will have plenty of snacks along the way culminating in a sit-down sampling of several traditional dishes. Highly recommend!
