Breathtaking Meteora Sunset: Exclusive Small Group Discovery

An enjoyable tour, guided by Apostolos, who was very well-informed about the history of the monasteries and entertaining too. The pick-up was prompt and the tour was exactly as the description given.

Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable about both history and geology, and handy with a cell phone camera (took pictures of each group at each stop). The monastery included on this tour has been a nunnery since the monks moved out and it was a pleasure to interact with some of the sisters. The hermit caves are seen from a distance of about 100 meters - you don't actually go into them.

Our family did two tours with Visit Meteora in August 2025: the Meteora Sunset Tour with guide Lina and driver Sotos, and the Meteora Half-day Sightseeing Tour with guide Apostolis and driver Yanis. Both tours were perfectly organized, taking us to the best viewpoints and most fascinating sites in Meteora. On the first tour we got to watch a spectacular sunset. The guides did an amazing job sharing lots of information in a friendly and non-tiring manner. They kept the group engaged with the right volume and pace, and eagerly answered all our questions. Interestingly, there was very little overlap between the two tours, even though they covered the same area - Meteora. Lina and Apostolis each brought their own perspective, highlighting different aspects of history, culture, religion, and the landscape, making the tours feel complementary. The vans were comfortable, and the drivers were friendly and truly professional. We highly recommend Visit Meteora for exploring this unique and breathtaking region and its monasteries.

Very good way to visit Meteora Monasteries. Small group in a minibus with great descriptions and comments from the guide. Very good allocation of time between the visited sites.

It's 4hrs of stunning views and exploring, amazing tour guide Lina and driver Yanas took care of us. If you choose pick up from your hotel or apartment bare in mind they will be a few minutes after the start time but well worth it.

Our guide was local, trained as an archaeologist, and related appropriate local knowledge of the site we visited. She was excellent.

This tour is an absolute must. You'll see so many unique vantage points of the area along with in-depth information about the area and monasteries from the guides. Also enjoyed the guide I had.
