Well worth the visit the views from Filiermos were spectacular. The Vally of the Butterflies was cool and refreshing, and a wonderful connection to nature.

The transport was on time and the driver friendly. Both stops were long enough to enjoy the experiences, without being too long. We loved the view from the cross on the hill and the peacocks roaming freely around us. The butterfly valley was remarkable, although crowded with tourists like ourselves.

The journey was a bit long to the Hill where ther wer lots of peacocks and the view was amazing from the cross but the monastey was not much. The butterfly valley had no butterflies so it was a disappointment even though I had read that they would have some. The cafe was a bit over priced there and the walk in the valley was a bit steep and not easy.

We visited on a very rainy day in May but still worth the visit, the Cross is marvellous and the views are amazing the site is pretty run down looking but I guess that’s ok. Take bread with you, the hotels always put out too much so take some with you, trust me…

I have been to the valley on my own many years ago and arrangements on this excursion are excellent and I would do it with them again.

We visited Filerimos Hill first which I would have given 5 stars. It cost 6 euros each to get in and was well worth it. If you like history and appreciate architecture. There were many different remains on the site spanning history and it felt so peaceful. The view from the top was amazing and there were plenty of peacocks roaming round if you'd like to see them. The Valley of the Butterflies also cost 6 euros each to go in and this is where I remove the 2 stars. It ran 1km up hill one way and a little further if you went downhill first. It wasn't really busy but you still felt rushed if you wanted to stop as the paths were so narrow. There were viewing platforms but you got blocked in as again they were narrow. Though it was mid August there weren't many butterflies. The paths were half cobbled and uneven so you had to watch your footing. It was not for me but could suit many other people. Couldn't fault the tour operator though, the driver was great, very polite. The mini bus was comfortable and air conditioned and was early for pick up.

A lovely day out. Wonderful views from Filerimos Hill and ample time to explore the monastery and site of the cross. The peacocks were on form with a very colourful display. Even given that there were not many butterflies with it being too early in the season, the valley was worth seeing and exploring. We would advise that you go up to the upper part of the valley first. This is a well-organised trip with enough time in both places.
