Escape the buzz of Bangkok and journey into one of Thailand’s most treasured natural wonders: Khao Yai National Park, the country’s oldest national park. Three hours driving from the capital, this vast, UNESCO-listed sanctuary spans over 2,000 square kilometers of lush mountains, dense jungle, and dramatic waterfalls. Khao Yai is a paradise for nature lovers and one of the best places in Thailand to encounter wildlife in their natural habitat. As you follow one of the park’s trails, keep your eyes open for hornbills, gibbons, and if you’re lucky, snakes and even wild elephants. The landscapes here are stunning, from misty mountain viewpoints to vibrant forests echoing with bird calls. Please note: Khao Yai is a National Park, not a zoo. Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, as the animals roam freely in the park’s dense vegetation. But that’s exactly what makes Khao Yai so special: it’s raw, real, and unpredictable. Group size is limited to a maximum of 10 participants.

Very enjoyable experience overall. I travelled solo and there was only myself and 1 other guy doing the trip. You need a good level of fitness to complete this, the visit to the waterfall requires an extremely long descent and climb back up. The walk itself through the national park was challenging, I would not recommend doing this anytime during the wet season as the path was still very muddy. You should be aware there is an extremely long driving time involved, it's about 6hr in total of driving between the journey there and back which was not advertised. We did not see any animals during the actual walk, however we did see Deer, monkeys and Elephants on the drive out of the park.

The trip was exactly as described - a long drive out of the city, beautiful hikes to the waterfalls and an adventurous hike through the jungle. However, the best part was the nature and literally climbing on branches while holding onto vines to get over the water and then seeing monkeys at the end of the trail. Only the best national parks have sinks to wash off your muddy shoes when you're done. An absolutely wonderful adventure! John was a terrific guide explaining the history of the park and area and pointing out wildlife.

We had a great time in the Nationalpark, with John as our Guide. The waterfalls in the beginning are nice, but especially the hike through the forest is fantastic!

It was very informative & fun. If you enjoy exploring nature, I would recommend. I'm not sure if guides rename themselves, but Mr Bond was a nice guy to talk to and was fun to tour with & the driver was also good; if I had just gone, I felt I would definitely be more lost or less informed; some of the parks including this one are massive (2000km) and it's nothing like exploring a smaller park/area overall, so knowing what is there is vital.

We got to know many interesting creatures, enjoyed beautiful views, and even had some fun adventures along the 3 km trail. The most unforgettable moment was when we had to cross a small river — our guide cleverly used tree branches to rebuild a bridge for us! It was thrilling and so much fun. If you’re visiting Khao Yai National Park and want a truly special experience, I highly recommend joining this trip. It even includes transportation to and from Bangkok, which makes everything super convenient!

Good value for a day trip with my 15 YO. Attentive and careful driver Mr Nu and eagle eye and knowledgeable guide Mr Bond. We did an steep easy walk to Hell cliff waterfall then an adventurous trek through the rain forest to 'the Beach' waterfall. We saw monkeys, deers, taranchulas, scorpions, green snake and chameleon.

This is exactly as described. It’s a long drive and back to Khoa Yao and we visited 2 waterfalls that were beautiful and did a 3 to 4 km hike through the forest. This was really quiet and we didn’t see anyone else on the trail. We saw some monkeys and a water dragon. Tonya was thoroughly enjoyable as a guide. It was exactly what I was expecting and I enjoyed the trip. If I were to do it again, and I will, go up and spend the night. The park is definitely worth the time and don’t expect to see elephants unless you are very lucky. They are free to wander the park.

Had an amazing time on this trip! Our guide Tanya and the driver were great. We saw deer, monkeys, bats, and more. And the trail through the jungle is beautiful--so many interesting trees and plants. Highly recommend.

- IMPORTANT: There are many wild animals in the national park, but you should always remember you're visiting a huge National Park, not a zoo looking at animals in captivity. The animals are free to roam where they like, and with the dense vegetation it’s not always easy to find them.
