Unforgettable Truffle Hunt & Fine Wine Pairing

Lovely experience, at a beautiful and charming location. The hosts was generous, kind and passionate about their work, and the wine, snacks and pasta with own picked truffles of the day was delicious. We truly recommend this tour.

This is one of my favorite things we did in Italy. The truffle hunting tour was amazing. Our 11 year old daughters loved it! We hiked and found truffles with their dogs and then returned to the vineyard and had a tour of the winery. We had an amazing lunch and tasted their wines. It was so much fun!

We had an amazing experience hunting truffles - we went out on the trail with the two dogs, their master and another couple and the dogs found 6 or 7 truffles ! It was a really special experience to see them dig and fetch the tartufos ! The other guests were super friendly and our host very knowledgeable. The lunch back at the house was excellent, and included the truffles we’d just found, as well as delicious wine, in a lovely setting with view on the valley. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone spending a few days in the Verona area !

As experienced “truffle hunters” in Italy (we also did it in Tuscany 2-3 years ago), the truffle hunting part of the tour was just OK. More of a hike than anything, but only found 4-5 very small truffles, maybe the size of a marble. Compared to 2 years ago in Tuscany, we found 15-20 in half the time, all very good size, like an average strawberry. Then, when they served us food, it was good, but there was hardly any truffle on it at all, maybe just oil, not 1 slice that you usually find. Again, compared to Tuscany, the guy shaved 5-10 slices on each dish. In Tuscany, he probably used 3-4 full truffles for only 4 of us. Here, I don’t think they used even 1, just oil with some truffle specs. The wine was very good. The people were super nice, although a little slow with the tasting. I would recommend doing the tasting only and save truffle for Tuscany or elsewhere. On their website, they show shaving the truffles on the food, but they did not do that.

It was a wonderful experience! From the warm welcome by the lovely Hilária to the actual tour. The place is magical. Truffle hunting was a delightful moment, and watching the beautiful and clever little dog search for truffles was so much fun. Afterward, I took a tour of the property, tasted the wines, indulged in the boutique wines they produce, and enjoyed a delicious pasta with truffles. I was warmly welcomed, heard stories, and learned a lot! The owner, a wine enthusiast, shared insights about Amarone and its history. In summary, if you appreciate a boutique, authentic, and special experience, don't miss visiting! I will cherish great memories. A heartfelt thank you once again for the hospitality.

From the moment you arrive to every minute you spend in Santa Maria Valverde - it is time filled with knowledge, beauty and wonderful tastes. The truffle hunting experience is made special by three things: a very knowledgeable host, fantastic lively and hard working dog (Brozie) and the pasta you have afterwords with the truffles. Nothing is too much for the family who run this vineyard: from delicious food to mini lessons in wine making to the tour of the Amarone prosecution. The wine itself is out of this world. You learn a lot, you laugh a lot and you spend every minute in the most friendly and beautiful atmosphere. Special thank you to Cicillia (it was her second day working) who gave us a wealth of knowledge about the love and care that goes into making the wine. Cicillia-you were great! Thank you all very much for an experience that will stay with us for years to come!

An amazing trip - highly recommend!!! The vineyard and the line were amazing and the hosts awesome as well. The wine and food were awesome and the hike and truffle hunt were equally amazing. We recommend you take this trip! We were staying in Verona at the time and this was exceptional!

Our time at the Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde was the highlight of our trip to Italy. With stunning views and the friendliest customer service, we would highly recommend this experience. We were so delighted when the lagotto found the truffle! And the homemade truffle pasta lunch and wine was delicious. We will cherish these memories.
