This one-day cycling experience is ideal for travellers seeking a blend of fun, gentle exercise and Mongolia’s timeless scenery. The journey begins with a short transfer to the giant statue of Chinggis Khan on horseback. While the bikes are being prepared, enjoy a panoramic view of the vast grassland from an observation deck on the horse’s head. From here, you’ll cycle at your own pace along peaceful country roads, passing through wooded hillsides and wide open valleys. Along the way, you’ll glimpse a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries — large flocks of yaks, sheep and goats grazing freely, and the round felt tents of local herders scattered across the landscape. A picnic lunch awaits at the day’s highest point, set in a lush meadow framed by wooded slopes. The afternoon ride is a relaxed roll through open valley terrain, with nomadic homes dotting the scenery. The ride concludes by 5 pm, when the bikes are loaded for a two-hour return drive to Ulaanbaatar.
