Exclusive Funchal Tuk Tuk: Old Town & Gardens Tour

The gardens themselves are really nice with lots of botanical specimens. Easy to get to either by bus or by two cable cars. lovely to walk around and some great views down into Funchal. The thing which let it down for me was the toilets. WCs had seats missing and the urinals, two were covered in plastic bags . in the men's loo not only was there no seats but the flushing mechanism was broken. No toilet paper or hand towels.

The tuk-tuk picked us up at the port and took us to the Botanical Garden. We had an hour there to explore it on our own (no guide at the garden). We were then taken back to town and at our request dropped off at the city square. We had a great view of the city and the harbour, from the back of the tuk-tuk. Would recommend if you are looking for transportation to the garden, but not a guided tour.

The two drivers we had (2 couples) were excellent very accommodating and knowledgeable, we all enjoyed the tour immensely, would definitely book again

Andrea was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. The Botanical gardens were beautiful and trip up and down was fun. The tour was interesting.

Why go to the far east when you can experience a tuk tuk ride aroung Funchal ! I would strongly recommend booking before you travel or just after you arrive as it is a very popular tour and gets booked up days ahead. Andrea our guide was very knowledgeable. As well as giving a running commentary on places of interest she answered all our questions so well. It's a great way to spend a few hours without taking a whole day out of your holiday. I would definitely recommend this trip.

We had a fantastic time exploring Funchal with Andrea. She has outstanding knowledge about the area and good naturedly answered all of our questions. She has a great sense of humour and we enjoyed leaning about life in Funchal, We visited the Palheiro Gardens which were beautiful and at no point on the tour did we feel rushed. The sign up process was pretty straight forward and we had no issues. If you're in the area, go for a spin on a tuk tuk!
