1. The Beauregard-Keyes House in New Orleans is a historic Greek Revival-style mansion that was built in 1826 for wealthy auctioneer Joseph LeCarpentier. It is located in the French Quarter at 1113 Chartres Street and was later owned by Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard and author Frances Parkinson Keyes. The house was restored in the 1940s by Keyes and is now a historic house museum with period furnishings and memorabilia from Beauregard’s military career. The house also has a beautiful courtyard and gardens.
