1. The Key West Lighthouse and Keeper’s Quarters Museum was built in 1825 and stands at 86 feet tall. It was used to guide ships through the treacherous reefs surrounding Key West for over 125 years. Today, visitors can climb the 88 steps to the top for a spectacular view of the island. The Keeper’s Quarters Museum is located on the same property and features exhibits on the history of the lighthouse and the families who lived and worked on the site.
