It is owned and designed by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat who began reconstruction of the temple in 1997. The temple is entirely white, symbolizing pureness and the Buddha’s purity, and features a unique blend of traditional Thai architecture with contemporary influences. The temple’s exterior is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting Buddhist and Hindu motifs, as well as popular culture elements such as Superman, Batman, and Star Wars characters. The temple’s interior showcases elaborate murals depicting scenes of heaven and hell, and even includes images of modern-day events such as the September 11th attacks.
