1. Tunnel Temple, also known as Wat Umong, is a unique and peaceful Buddhist temple located in the lush forest on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. The temple is famous for its ancient tunnel network, providing visitors a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The tunnels are lined with Buddhist teachings, beautiful murals, and some areas even have natural light shining in from small openings in the ceiling. Another interesting feature of Wat Umong is the meditation center, where visitors can attend meditation classes and retreats. The temple grounds also boast a beautiful garden, a pond with fish and turtles, and various monks’ residences.
