1. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the world’s oldest shopping malls located in the heart of Milan, Italy. It was designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni and built between 1865 and 1877 commemorating the unification of Italy ending the centuries of foreign domination and division. The Galleria is in the shape of a Latin cross with a glass-vaulted roof, reminiscent of Parisian arcades. It’s named after Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy. The Galleria is home to luxury boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and high-end shops. The Galleria is adorned with art and sculpture, including the Bull of Turin mosaic on the floor, which is believed to bring good luck if you spin on it with your right foot and make a wish.
