1. Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, also known as Maozhuxi Jinian Tang, is a large monument dedicated to Mao Zedong, the founder of the People’s Republic of China. It is located in Tiananmen Square in Beijing and was built in 1977, just after Mao’s death. The building has an overall area of 57,000 square meters and features a large central hall that contains Mao’s embalmed body. Visitors can walk past the body, which is surrounded by a glass enclosure, paying their respects to the late leader. The memorial hall is a popular destination for domestic and international tourists alike.

3. Admission to the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is free, but visitors are required to obtain a ticket before entering. Tickets can be obtained on the day of the visit from the ticket office on the east side of the hall. It’s recommended to arrive early as a limited number of tickets are available each day. The best way to reach the memorial hall is by subway - take Line 1 to Tiananmen East or Tiananmen West stations, or Line 2 to Qianmen station.
