Unforgettable Connemara: Kylemore Abbey & Scenic Leenane Tour

This was a great day trip! We had plenty of time at Kylemore Abbey and got to see some amazing sights on the way there and back. Our guide, Michael, was great. We learned a lot about the places we were seeing.

Today had the pleasure of going touring. But not having to drive. Doing a Lally’s tour of the Connemara region of Galway county. I travelled through here about 10 days ago, but really didn’t spend much time as I knew I’d be back. And I’m glad I did this tour. So informative about this mysterious part of the world, where most pleasingly, Irish is the first language. Michael, the guide with only about 11 on the tour was excellent. So much knowledge of the area, and a really pleasant chap. And I take my hat off to anyone who can drive a bus in Galway City. Making adjustments based on his local knowledge of what’s and isn’t open during the off season, with the input of the tourers have us more time where we wanted to be, rather than seeing closed businesses etc. That’s service. The landscape, rivers, fjords, valleys, mountains are breathtaking. And of course the pinnacle was a visit to Kylemore Abbey. Now home to a handful of Benedictine Nuns, one of whom I had the pleasure of meeting while wandering. The abbey inside is now a tourist attraction and museum and beautifully presented in its early era. It’s the outside that makes it special. Stunning location and grounds. I can only imagine how spectacular it would like in spring. Very much a recommended 7-8 hr tour.

Wonderful journey across Galway and Connemara. You get to know its history and most popular sites. The guide was really informative, helpful and humorous which made the journey memorable.

Had a great day on this trip with Michael as our guide. He was very knowleable about the area. Kylemore Abbey and The Walled Gardens were lovely. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Had an absolutely fabulous time! The only thing that made it even better than it possibly could have been was the BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER.. SHANE! He made the day fun and he is extremely smart and knows a ton about the history of Ireland and the places that we went. Thank you so much for making the day perfect Shane!!

1st we would like to thank our tour guide SHANE. For 2 ladies being from Ireland it was wonderful to here such wonderful beautiful stories and made us feel very proud indeed to be irish. The lovely "sayings" of how they came about, he was so knowledgable and went out of his way with passion in his heart of buildings etc of the beautiful wild west. Our guide and driver Shane did a great job sharing history along the trip. He was kind and gave as much time as possible to enjoy each stop. It was a beautiful drive through Connemara to Kylemore Abbey.

This might have been my favorite thing that we did in Ireland. Connemara might be the most beautiful place I've ever been to. I was floored at how gorgeous the scenery was and how otherworldly it looked at times. The tour guide made plenty of stops to get out and take pictures while we were driving around and really let you get a feel for the areas you are driving through. I would love to go back and spend more time in Connemara because I feel like I will never forget it. Kylemore Abbey was amazing and had plenty of things to see. My only complaint is that I wanted more time to spend there but also more time driving around and stopping at random places in Connemara. Extremely highly recommended.

My sister and I went on a tour to Kylemore Abbey. The trip was amazing and the driver, Seamus, was great!! I loved the personal stories and historical information. And the driving skills, on the narrow Irish roads, was impressive to say the least! I would definitely book a tour with this company again! Thank you for a great trip!
