Bogotá has become a world reference in graffiti. It boasts impressive murals and street art that place it above cities like Miami, Amsterdam, Río, and México City. Its rise as one of the key city-canvases in Latin America has made it an attractive destination for the curious tourist and the bold artist. Would you have guessed? As with graffiti everywhere else, Bogotá’s history with the art has often been tense. But great art can overcome negative labels. Right now, no one would call it vandalism. It has struggled but has earned its place and the city is better for it. The mixture of social and political commentary with a twist of local and foreign styles make Bogotá’s graffiti truly a sight to behold. Join us in this tour not only of Colombia’s history as told by art but a tour of Bogotá as a curated museum of amazing artists!

Our guide Sarah made this tour even better. She was well-versed than everything we were looking at, the history of art, and the streets, just a very enjoyable few hours.

Great guide with an overall great experience. One downside is that the tour is in Spanish and English, which while accessible, makes the tour take twice as long.

You see lots of great street art and also hear about the historical, social, political, and legal context. Jose has great knowledge of local street artists.

First, there was no information provided to help us locate the tour in a very busy public square. The guide indicated that we should have been told to look for yellow umbrellas but that info was not passed along. Second, while the guide was quite knowledgeable about the art and some artists, it was quickly apparent that she had an agenda regarding which pieces were worth visiting. Several times, guests had to ask her to stop so the could take photos but you could see her obvious impatience. She also paid special attention to recent pieces that advocated for Palestine, with a couple of guests clearly uncomfortable with the discussion. The art was beautiful. Enjoyed seeing ii

Ivonne was our very knowledgeable and very charming guide. She told us about the very unique history of graffiti art in Colombia and also answered our many questions about the sociopolitical situation in Colombia. The art is amazing.
