Montalbano's Sicily: Unforgettable 8-Hour Film Set Journey

We made this beautiful tour Montalbano with Giovanni. After visiting the interesting and nice Castello Donnafugata and pleasant Punta Secca, where the house of the commissario is, he arranged a lunch in a very good restaurant in Scicli. After the lunch we visited the office of the commissario. We had a very wonderful day! Grazie Giovanni! Evert Jan, Aukje and Willy.

An excellent day out with Giovanni visiting the locations of the Inspector Montalbano TV series. We were picked up by Giovanni at 9am and while we drove to the first location we were kept entertained with an iPad presentation on Sicily. We visited Il Castello di Donnafugata (home of the Mafia boss), Punta Secca (his house) & Scicli Town Hall (the police station) where you can visit the set. Giovanni also dropped us off at an excellent restaurant where we had a lovely lunch. We were dropped back to our hotel at 5pm. Giovanni spoke good English and pointed out lots of things as we were driving from place to place. Highly recommended.

Giovanni and Claudio Maltese (brothers) were the driver and guide. Both were exceptional in historical knowledge, tour schedule, catering to client needs; arranging itinerary. most of all their professionalism and ability to be flexible when needed to accommodate my needs since I walk with a cane. The tour was everything I expected and more. I recommend it enthusiastically.

When the tour we booked on Viator was cancelled at the last minute, we were able to get the Montalbano tour for almost 3 times the price of the Viator tour. It was over $300 for two people. For that price, we would have thought the price of admission for the sites would have been included which were 3 euros here and 3 euros there. The only thing he provided was the transportation. When he suggested we go to Modica and Noto (included on the other tour) we agreed so we could get our money"s worth. When we got back to our hotel, he said he wanted more money for Noto and Modica but a precise price was never discussed. He got upset when we refused to pay extra. His service is basically an expensive taxi. He tried to steer us toward places that seemed like he had an arrangement with. I didn"t like the menu at the place he chose for lunch and since we were paying, we went somewhere else.

Perfect and punctual Service and Claudio's sympathy literally overwhelmed us. We discovered a friend that we will definitely contact for other tours around the beautiful Sicily. Highly recommended!

Giovanni was our driver for 8 days. From this experience we understood that he is a boy with a strong character, with a strong sense of irony and with a lot of attention to detail that he expresses in every excursion. Thanks to him we were able to have fantastic experiences that we did not even think we could find on the island, such as fabulous boat trips, beaches so beautiful that tropical islands are envied and how to forget the most famous and exclusive restaurants where Giovanni never has any problem to book. In addition to the fantastic destinations with Giovanni, the road to go does not seem at all long thanks to the chats that manage to touch every topic, because Giovanni in addition to being a skilled driver also improvises as a tour guide and thanks to his ability to be understood on the fly you will seem to be knowing your destination forever and when you think that surprises are over Giovanni always knows how to surprise thanks to his iPad, with which he shows images relevant to the destination (for example, when we went to dry point he made us do a first overview of the village thanks to the series of Commissioner Montalbano) , and to sweeten his customers uses his trusty bag of candy.
