Breathtaking Cocora Valley: Hummingbird Magic Eco-Trek

Very good day spent with our guide Don Juan ! He explained us everything, about palm trees, plants and birds. He was very nice and kind. About the hike, you have to be in a good physical condition because it’s tough ! But I Recommend 100%.

Jeffery was a great guide! He knew a lot about all the plants and animals that we saw. Nice to have the private tour and go at your own pace. Would highly recommend!

Cesar was our guide and he provided not only basic knowledge about the region and landscape but also about birds and prior trips experiences. We ended up our 2024 with this hiking experience and we are grateful we did it with him. It is a very recommended experience.

We were in awe of Daniel’s passion and knowledge for the Cocora Valley and its nature and wildlife. He guided us through a 12k hike and was happy to go at whatever pace we needed. We enjoyed talking through the whole hike and came away having learned so much. The peaceful moments sitting watching the hummingbirds will be unforgettable. Would love to complete this circuit again one day.

Fantastic experience! It was a 12km hike but totally worth it. Nicholas was very nice and explained everything really well! He showed us lots of different birds! It was worth the 1km hike to see the Hummingbirds on the side. Very beautiful to watch the gorgeous hummingbirds. Nicholas was also kind and carried some of our things in his backpack! He also brought us snack and was really nice to work with. We ended our tour with an amazing lunch and we 100% recommend this experience. Part of the hike is intense but totally worth the experience!😊

We had a wonderful time with our guide, Daniel. Super knowledgeable and great conversations. We hiked about 5 hours total, saw several species of birds and fauna, etc. We had hiking boots and would recommend proper hiking footwear to do this trek, particularly for the water crossings and mud. The wax palms are impressive and the hummingbird point is worth the effort. Would recommend Daniel to be your guide. Highlight of our trip to Colombia

The guide and interpreter were very nice and knowledgable. Unfortunately, the tour operator was a mess -- they messaged an hour before our start time asking us to meet in Salento instead of picking us up at our hotel, as stated on the Viator ticket and confirmation. After some messages, they sent someone to pick us up, but then didn't communicate where we were going or what we were doing. Nor did they apparently do so to the guide and interpreter once we arrived, for they didn't know where we wanted to go. Eventually we made it, but the guide left us and the interpreter got lost. We traveled 2 hours going back and forth through rivers. All of this would have been fine had there been more communication.

Cesar was a great guide and we had an amazing time trekking, enjoying nature and learning about Cocora. highly recommended!

Cesar is the best tour guide that I have ever had. He made a very rainy, somewhat strenuous hike into an incredible Indiana Jones adventure that my family and I will never forget. I would highly recommend this tour if you want a vigorous hike with stunning scenery. Keep in mind that it is definitely a workout and you will absolutely get muddy. But, it's 100% worth it- especially if you're with Cesar!!! Also, you will sleep like a baby if/when you make it back to your hotel/airBnB.
