Breathtaking Ninh Binh: Tam Coc & Mua Cave Day Trip from Hanoi

Had such a blast with Sunny - he’s funny and an amazing tour guide! Really takes care of you and teaches you a lot about Vietnam history. The tour itself contained 3 unique parts, each so different than the other. We got to see a lot of Ninh Binh in one go! Highly recommend

It was an amazing tour! I wish all of my tours would be like that. The tour includes three famous attractions — Hoa Lư (ancient capital), Tam Cốc (boat riding with beautiful scenery) and Núi Ngoạ Long (mountain with breathtaking views). Worth it hype, should you visit it? Definitely yes, especially with these guys. The tour was perfectly organized, we had enough time to see all the planned attractions in a comfortable way. And considering that attractions on this tour are usually overcrowded, I was surprised that, due to tour timing, we visited them between crowd waves. I can just applaud the tour staff. Our guide was Sunny — that rare type of guide who loves their job, knows the subject and has skill and talent to tell a story you will remember. He turned the tour into a deep dive into Vietnamese history and culture and did it so great and funny, so everybody on the bus enjoyed it. As for the bus — we had a very comfortable limousine bus with Wi-Fi and 17 tourists in a group. Our driver was Hoa. He drove carefully, but always on time, so many thanks to him. I liked that the tour staff really cares about tourists — they provide water (I guess I received not less then 1,5 liters in total, haha), raincoats, all necessary instructions before every attraction and there are no hidden fees, and they don't push you to give tips to somebody or buy something. It was a great day. If you're reading this review and deciding whether to go or not — you are lucky enough to find the right team to support your journey. Just do it, you won't regret it.

Sunny was a great guide and the tour was well paced, interesting and great value for money ! Nice bike ride and visit at the temple, boat trip by local people and the 500 steps for an amazing view at the end! Highly recommended

Wow this was an amazing trip. Not a dull moment.it had hiking, bike ride,going through caves floating on the water. It was a great experience.

I booked this tour for a few of reasons: - I'd seen a lot of great reviews, in particular with the guide Sunny (so I requested his tour group). - It was nearly HALF the price quoted by my hostel - I didn't have much time and wanted to remove the stress of the day planning. The tour did not dissapoint! Sunny was as entertaining and informative as I was anticipating, and made the journey feel less long by telling us various stories which I won't spoil :) I'm sure if you have more time, it would be nice to go alone, but for the convenience and jammed packed day, I'd strongly recommend this tour. Even if travelling alone, Sunny will make sure to get the group mingling and by the end of the trip I'd chatted to a bunch of people and had people to do the activities with!

Sunny was very informative, engaging, and professional! This was an experience of a lifetime, the boat ride will be one I will never forget of the beautiful Viet Nam landscape!

The best tour on my travels so far! Sunny was a great guide and provided a lot of insight to Vietnam's history, the places we visited, and the people in Vietnam. Hoa's is a very skilled driver and made driving in Hanoi's peak hour traffic feel safe and made it look easy. They took care of the group and gave us pointers on tipping the locals without getting scammed. Definitely recommend taking this tour if you're considering it!

We had the most amazing tour to Ninh Binh — even though it rained during parts of the day, it didn’t take away from how incredible the experience was. Our guide, Sunny, was fantastic: full of energy, passion, great knowledge, and a great sense of humor that kept us engaged throughout. The highlight for us was the hike and exploring the charming village below — such a unique and memorable part of the trip. That said, the peaceful boat ride through caves and between majestic mountains, along with the scenic local bike ride, were close runners-up. We also highly recommend booking with Sunny — he truly made the tour special with his enthusiasm and insight. An unforgettable day!

A day trip to nimh binh with Sunny was good. The company had good communication and was able to organise pickup/drop off well. The journeys were fine and bottled water was supplied on the bus. We were asked to bring cash to pay the entry fees for the temples + boat ride. It does not say this in the description (and the company asked us not to in the WhatsApp messages before the trip) but sunny the tour guide heavily implied we should be tipping the boat rowers, on top of the fee we paid to ride the boat. The company sent us communication before hand about not tipping these people, and the website tour description says not to, but then the tour guide said we needed too. There was mixed signals here. The lunch is very average in taste, but it's fine. You're in a big hall with lots of other tour groups and it's a big line to get lunch. Drinks are not included in lunch, including water, so expect to pay extra if you want water at lunch as the bus water is only given out after lunch. Definitely bring snacks to eat on the bus and it's a long day. Sunny really pushed the need to tip him at the end of the tour, saying that we should be giving extra tips to the bus driver too. Overall the trip was fine, the hike and bike + boat ride was good, temple was average, but don't expect much from the lunch food.

I had a fantastic time on this trip. Our tour guide Sunny was energetic and fun making the trip an entertaining and enjoyable experience. The hike itself was fun although I would not recommend sprinting up the hike as getting down may be more challenging. The biking portion was fun with cool views and the food was great! The only downside was that you do have to bring extra money to avoid trip advisors taking more of a cut off the top. Overall though a great trip.
