Matera Sassi: Iconic Ape Calessino Panoramic Journey

This is a good introduction to Matera and a panoramic ride if you don't have too much time to explore the city. In 45 minutes you will see the major sites and have a sense of the town layout to later explore at a more slower pace, or like in our case where didn't have more time, leave us wanting to return to this incredible place. The drivers (we had two vehicles being a party of 5) were helpful, professional and friendly.

A fun quick way to see all major points with very knowledgeable guides. Vito and Francesco were wonderful.

So glad we booked the tuk tuk tour with Vito. We saw so much of Matera that we would not have seen in the short time we were here. We had a great experience seeing Matera via Ape. It is definite the way to go, seeing as there’s a lot to cover if you go on foot. Vito was a wonderful guide explaining the history of this fascinating city and stopping at picturesque spots to capture special moments. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful Ape Tour with Vito and our family group of 8 travellers ( we had two Ape). It was great to have the two hour tour of Matera and to gain an overview and insight of the city so then we could go ahead and explore on our own. We did the Sassi Maxi tour and visited some really interesting places . Would recommend Vito.

Wonderful! We learned so much and our guide, Vito, was accommodating & friendly. He grew up in Matera & shared interesting history and experiences. So glad we did this tour! Our teenager even liked it.
