Unforgettable 3-Day White Desert & Bahariya Oasis Safari

The desert camping was a great experience. The food cooked over the campfire was delicious. The desert sunset and sunrise over the horizon are a must-see.

The trip with our guide Ayadi was fantastic : as a Bedouin, he knows the places we visited extremely well. His English was very decent and he was able to tell us interesting stories and teach us about the culture. The whole experience was amazing, the oasis we visited beautiful, and the desert a unique place.

That was a very beautiful experience. A night in the desert and a day trip around the oasis made this trip memorable! We were assigned to Hazem; he has over 25 years experience and traveling with him was very magical. In these kind of trips, the knowledge makes the difference, and Hazem has brought us around the desert making us feeling like a part of it! Moreover, his organisational skills were impressive, managing not only the driving parts, but also the dinner and camping. Thanks also to Ahmed, Hazem colleague. His support was great!

Do NOT do the 3 day/2 night tour! Tour provider completely switched the itinerary without any choice. In a group of 13 guests, all but 2 of us were doing the 2 day/1 night tour, so the tour provider lumped us into the 1 night group. That means all the sites were COMPLETELY RUSHED AND PACKED vs having the spaced out itinerary that was advertised. On the first day each stop is 5-15 minutes each because there is little time before setting up camp for sunset - essentially you just get out of the car to take a picture and are rushed out and onto the next stop. No time to savor, hike/look around, or enjoy. On the second day there was nothing to do until 4pm when they put us together with someone else doing the 3 day tour. And there is NOTHING to do at the hotel. So on day 2 we started the “tour” at 4pm, which is just a bit of driving around and then sitting at a lake from 5:30-6:30pm. The sand boarding was fun, white desert super beautiful, but the arrogance and rudeness of the tour provider really ruined the experience. Very few of the staff speak English - only 1 of the 3 drivers for our 13 person group spoke English. At the “hotel” only a couple of the staff did - no explanations of what you were eating and the “mystery meat” made my husband sick (I’m vegetarian, which I had to tell them repeatedly). You have to PAY FOR WATER at the hotel! I’ve never experienced that during a tour before. You can also buy soft drinks at the hotel - which I did and paid for in cash each time but at the end they accused me of not paying for the drinks! There was also an older lady who wanted a drink but didn’t bring cash from her room - she tried to explain that she would pay when she checked out, but they didn’t understand her and they wouldn’t give her a drink! So I gave her money to pay for the drink so she wouldn’t have to go back to her room. At the hotel there are a LOT of bugs - my husband and I each got over a dozen bites (I think mosquitoes) in the one day we had at the hotel. The 2 stars are because the white desert was stunning and worth seeing. Sadly the tour provider lied and the itinerary we signed up and paid for was not provided. The hotel staff are rude and the room smells bad. Felt like everything was rushed, packed to gather as many people together as possible, and no one actually cared about their job or guests having a good time :( I would recommend you save yourself a lot of frustration and find a different 1 night white desert tour provider.

A very well-organized tour filled with wonderful sights. On the first day, we explored the Black and White Desert, and on the second we visited the attractions around the Bahariya Oasis. The food throughout the trip was outstanding, not only delicious but served in generous portions. Sleeping in the desert on the first night was an unforgettable experience, followed by a stay in a beautiful, clean, and well-kept hotel on the second night. It’s definitely worth choosing the three-day, two-night option instead of the shorter tours. After the busy program of the first day, the second day offers the perfect chance to rest a little and enjoy a more relaxed itinerary. I can only recommend it!

Last year, I was lucky enough to visit the Bahariya Oasis and part of the Black and White Desert. I knew I had to return. The desert is so vast and beautiful, offering many wonderful places that must be seen. We experienced two amazing days in the desert, visiting everything we had long dreamed of. The desert is so beautiful—the silence, the valleys, the stunning views. We enjoyed every moment. During the warm day, we could also refresh ourselves in natural springs with pleasantly warm water. Spending the night in the desert under the stars is indescribable. The Milky Way, so immense, right above us as if we could touch it, with thousands of stars all around. I kept waking up throughout the night just to gaze at that beauty. In the morning, we got up early to watch the sunrise—another incredible experience, seeing a new day being born, all the lights and movements as the desert awoke. On the second day, we explored beautiful places right in the Bahariya Oasis, such as English Mountain, Pyramid Mountain, and the sunset over the Salt Lake was yet another breathtaking moment. I would like to highlight the services of this company. From the pickup in Cairo and transfer, to the entire program in the desert, the hotel, and in the Bahariya Oasis—everything was perfectly organized, exactly as agreed, with very kind guides and all the staff. I can warmly recommend visiting the Bahariya Oasis and the desert with this company. Many thanks to Mr. Amir, who organized the whole tour for us—it was truly wonderful. And also thanks to our guide Ayman, who was perfect. This was certainly not my last visit, and I am already looking forward to coming back soon.

This is a wonderful tour to see the stuff you don't see on the package tours. Adventure! Riding through the desert in 4WD vehicles, dodging ancient windswept sandstone sculpted by nature - it's like being in a video game! The camping is very basic - no toilets in the white desert (so ladies be prepared for that). The Ahmed Safari lodge is beautiful, comfortable and clean. Meals were generous. Visits to the English House and around the oasis were really interesting. I would thoroughly recommend this tour!

We have had a wonderful 3 days 2 nights trip booked with White Desert Tour. Our tour guide Wahed was very good and go with our pace. We had a good time enjoying the different landscape of black desert and white desert. We camped in a very private and quiet spot far away from other people - beautiful sky full of stars and authentic dinner cooked by camp fire. We woke up enjoying the sun rise in the white desert. The whole experience is amazing and will be very memorable to us. Thanks for the organised tour. Everything was smooth and would recommend it to everyone
