Great Ocean Road Sunset: 12 Apostles & Twilight Magic

Beautiful trip , gorgeous views - the sunset was breathtaking . We were lucky to have Aleks as a tour guide , driver. She made our trip such a pleasant experience - she is very knowledgeable because she is a local, she told us so many good stories about the places we visited and she made sure we were comfortable and entertained at all times . We enjoyed the Great Ocean Road tour by GO WEST TOURS. The trip enabled us to see the splendours of the drive visiting the most recommended places. The highlight of the tour was the visit to the Twelve Apostles at sunset. The sights were truly marvellous making the grandous sandstone structures look even more beautiful. A special mention about our Guide and Driver, all in one, LISA. Her smooth driving and time management coupled with extremely friendly demeanour, is what made the trip so very enjoyable. The Ocean Road Sunset Tour is well worth the cost and as advertised is full of spectacular views of iconic, historical stopping points along the way culminating at the incredible stop at the 12 Apostles. Along the way we stopped to see Kangaroo's in the wild, a Koala just hanging in the tress and beautifully colored birds. Our tour guide Michael was absolutely wonderful, full of knowledge and stories of the history behind the Ocean Road. The stops for Lunch and Dinner provided us enough time to grab a bite in the iconic towns and get back on the bus. The only draw back is the long bus ride. There are plenty of stops along the way that helped make the bus ride bearable. While I did not expect anything different the bus while relatively comfortable has very little leg room so if your relatively tall or have bad knees as I do, be prepared for some period of discomfort on the bus. The ride back to Melbourne after viewing the Ocean Road, takes a route around the Ocean Road so it is more relaxed with less twists and turns but still is a 3 hour ride back to the city. I would not discourage you from taking this spectacular tour based on the Bus, however just be aware that it is not the most comfortable mode of transportation and be sure you're willing to be on and off the bus for the full 13 hours.

Pick up was on time and gave us ample time to explore the places as well. Mark is an amazing guide. The restaurants recommended by him were also very good.

Although we got rain in the late afternoon and did not get to see the sunset, I consider the tour with Jaimes on 5th October a great success. The white sand beaches, the views, the cliffs and rock formations are impressive and the weather just added to dramatic landscape. We did spot kangaroos and that one koala in the wild, as well as cockatoos and a few other birds.

Heya! It was a really enjoyable and beautiful experience to do the Great Ocean Route Tour with our guide Chris Hill. Everything was perfectly timed and organised, and Chris was super entertaining, friendly, and approachable. Each stop offered something unique, keeping the whole day exciting and engaging, and Chris shared fascinating insights and stories along the way. 10/10 would do it again! Had a great time!!! Absolutely stunning! Great tour! Simon was a lot of fun! He kept us laughing with great stories and jokes but was also very knowledgeable. He gave us great suggestions to get the best pictures and we all had a great time!
