Our guide was very knowledgeable of the ruins and Mayan history in general. There is about 30 to 40 min walk to the ruins but some benches available if you need to sit down for a bit. We stopped on the way back at a roadside stand for some honey pineapple that was very good. Bring bug spray because mosquitoes might be an issue. Overall, if you want to learn some history on the area then this trip is for you.

You have to travel for 45 minutes to get to the ruin. Have to climb a steep stairs or opt not to. Since some of us were seniors we opt not to go up. 🤗 Learned a lot about the Mayan’s ancient way of living, and governing.

Our trip to Chacchoben was an absolute delightful experience, but what made it so special was the about three hours together we spent with Rafael (our driver) and Octavio (our guide). These two gentlemen were precious indeed! As far as we're concerned this was a "private" tour for two, since we were the only ones. We felt safe, were treated with respect, and Octavio's knowledge of Mayan history and culture was superb. At Chacchoben visitors can explore a portion of the extensive but easily manageable ruins, which include structures like Temple One and the Temple of the Sun. Although we preferred the tour in Spanish, Octavio is as good in English as he is in Spanish. When my wife needed a band aid for her foot right before we headed back to the port, Rafael went out of his way to find one from one of his fellow drivers from another tour company. That simple act of courtesy was so touching. It was not just an example of great customer care, it was a beautiful demonstration of just plain human decency. Choose this tour and you'll be in good hands while getting an opportunity to learn everything you need to know about an impressive long lost culture. I give the whole experience an A+. Absolutely awesome experience with Rafael - good energy, knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much and it felt like a personalized tour. It ended up being our family of 5 and another family - so like a semi-private tour. We stopped for delicious pineapple and spent a lovely time visiting the Mayan Ruins and learning about the history. Would highly recommend it!

It is a bit of a drive from the port, but worth it. We stopped for a fresh pineapple and mango snack on the way to the ruins. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable about Mayan history. We loved our trip here.

The provider was so kind to us. My husband uses a mobility scooter and when I asked if they could work with it they said we were all "familia". Snacks of fruit were delicious. Great excursion.

Great educational experience for the whole family. Had an amazing time. The only negative was the directions to the meeting spot, was a little confusing and we ended up getting there a little late, but they were very accommodating.
