A fascinating and vibrant place, the old town is cobbled and hilly. The street art and graffiti in the old quarters is amazing. We missed the funicular because it was closed for maintenance. Pablo Neruda's house was fascinating. The seafront, away from the industrial/ port area, was delightful. Well worth a day trip from Santiago.

My tour was cancelled and moved to the following day, but the company was very accommodating. Our guide, Oscar, was knowledgeable and personable. A lovely walking tour in Valparaiso with a few stops and lunch in Vina Del Mar before returning to Santiago. I enjoyed the tour.

We enjoyed our day trip to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar tremendously. We had low expectations, given that we were the only English speakers on a tour with Portugese speakers. Rodrigo assured us that he could handle the duality, and he did it masterfully! We were very impressed by not only his care in providing all the information in both languages, but also in taking pictures, providing suggestions for other activities, ensuring an allergy was recognized during lunch. Valparaiso and Vina del Mar share a bay, but are so very different; seeing the contrast was stunning. There were many moments we will treasure, but the highlight was seeing the Moai from Rapa Nui. We have fabulous memories from our day on the tour; we are so pleased we did it, and would certainly recommend it.

The trip we signed up for said it would be an English tour. Our group was mix of spanish and english speaking people. The tour guide knew both languages but sometimes forgot to include the english speaking guests in conversations or details at a spot unless we spoke up. We also didn't get enough time to buy trinkets at stops. It was very "move onto the next stop." The place we stopped for lunch didn't have enough seating for the full tour group and we were left on our own to figure things out at restaurant. Maybe reservations hadn't been made ahead of time that we were coming?

The first stop at the vineyard was a bust. We just stopped in a giant enclosure where they have wine tasting, and sell wines (at the same price you can get them for elsewhere). It had passable breakfast. The visit to Valparaiso was outstanding. The initial ride through the city was underwhelming, given the traffic in the old town. However, the walking tour after taking the funicular was really nice. The city clearly takes care of maintaining a different world charm to the core of the city. Our tour guide, Sofia, was really awesome. She knows the place well, and is passionate about putting the best face of this part of the country forward to the guests. The driver, Antonio, was also pretty knowledgeable. He kept everyone's spirits up joining in every song that he played on the audio system. He is a little bit of a cowboy with driving, but gets from point A to point B really quick. After Valparaiso, we moved on to Vina Del Mar, a really, really pretty and well laid out city. The tour ends with lunch at a really nice location overlooking the ocean. The guides threw in a last minute stop to look at the sea lions. You really get to see them up close and personal, which really was a nice touch.

Communication via what's app let us know what time we were to be picked up, which was excellent. We went first to a wine tasting tourist stop with bathrooms, souvenirs, food, etc. Then, onto Valparaiso. Fantastic city to visit, full of amazing art / graffiti and quaint streets. Then on to Vino del Mar where we had lunch at a very nice Seafood restaurant. Being a vegetarian, there were only a couple of options, such as fries or salad. Then, we stopped briefly at the beach and at an Easter Moai statue before heading home. All as promised. Due to traffic, we did not get home til 7pm tho so it was a much longer trip than we had thought. The guide did speak English, but it was hard to hear him in the van as he had no microphone.

I was visiting Chile from the US and booked this trip through TripAdvidor. They answered promptly to questions before the trip and kept everyone informed until the end. The guide Alejandro was very knowledgeable and upbeat, he made the trip very enjoyable. The driver Juan Pablo was very courteous and did a good job with driving, and keeping everyone safe and comfortable. We stopped for lunch in Villa Del Mar and de food was absolutely delicious.
