Whitehaven Beach Rafting Adventure: Hill Inlet & Whitsundays

Couldn’t recommend ocean rafting enough! A must do tour if you are visiting Airlie Beach. Lockie & Tory were amazing, such a great team and made sure everyone was having the best time.They are a credit to ocean rafting!

I cannot praise this tour enough. First, the Whitsunday Islands are beautiful and this tour gives you a great impression of it. We visited Whitehaven Beach (the white one that is in all the pictures), and also went up to a superb lookout in a guided walk. After spending more than an hour on the beach and having lunch (basic, but completely fine), we went snorkeling, which was great as well. So yes, you see great stuff, but what really turned this into a standout trip was the fantastic crew. Scotty and Abby where simply amazing, creating a fun atmosphere for everybody and being very caring. We travelled with our 5-year old and they were both incredibly kind to her. She had the time of her life (talking about it for hours afterwards) - and honestly, so did my wife and I. It was fun, it was fast-paced (they use a rafting speedboat which adds a lot of fun) and it was great.

Amazing day!! Would 100% recommend the flight and northern tour. Hayley was our tour guide on the boat and did a great job of looking after us!! Such a fun day!

My family of 6 did the Southern Lights tour and we were not disappointed! I did SO much research to try to figure out the best tour for my family. We wanted to snorkel, but we really wanted time to just sit and enjoy Whitehaven Beach. I read so many reviews of other tours where people felt rushed leaving the beach, so I was really looking for some sort of balance. We loved having so much time on the beautiful beach with this tour. If that's what you're looking for, definitely book this tour! From the minute we were picked up until the end of the day, everyone on staff was great. We were on the Riptide and our guides were Marsha and Abby. I forgot our skipper's name, but she was nice but more no-nonsense (not in a bad way though). Marsha and Abby were just wonderful. They intentionally go around and make conversation with EVERYONE on the raft. Even though it can be difficult to hear because we're going so fast, or because the music is loud, they will still come around and talk to everyone. I was SO impressed. Truly awesome, awesome customer service. The raft is pretty small, so the group that goes out feels small...maybe 25 people? It is not a fancy boat, but it does go very very fast! They play the music loud (sometimes a little too loud for my taste because of explicit songs), but it's a fun ride! Definitely a younger crowd for this trip....no other families with kids. But we didn't feel out of place or anything. We snorkeled first and we had an amazing experience. We had just snorkeled in Port Douglas, so we weren't sure what to expect here. The colors aren't as bright here, but we definitely saw some pretty great things--a reef shark and a sea turtle! We were out there for an hour or so and it was wonderful. Their snorkeling gear isn't as nice (no valve on the snorkel) and some of my family members had to change up masks a few times, but overall it was a great time. Marsha also took some pictures of everyone with her underwater camera, but the pictures do not come out well. It's all pretty difficult to see and you have to purchase individual pictures if you want them. So we didn't end up getting any. After snorkeling, they gave us lamingtons, which were so delicious! It inspired me to look for them in Sydney later in the trip. Then we did the bushwalk to Hill Inlet. I could not believe that the view actually matched what you see on the Internet. I could not believe how beautiful it was. It's an amazing view. Wow! The walk is longer than you would think, but totally worth it to the lookout and then down to the beach. The beach time was great. We ate our box lunches on the raft (because we didn't want to deal with aggressive seagulls). The food was pretty good...a roll, salad, potato salad, and pasta salad. Then we just swam in the water and laid on the beach. It was so nice to be able to soak it all in. On the ride back, they passed out various kinds of fruit, which was a nice ending to the day. We didn't get to experience crazy donuts or anything. That was kind of a disappointment to my kids. Maybe we should've asked for that. The one piece of feedback I do have is that the music should be less explicit. There are clean versions of most songs these days, so they aren't hard to find. If you're going to blast the music when we're riding fast, at least make sure the music is cleaner. Thanks! This is an all-day trip and really worth the price. The customer service alone is worth it--Abby and Marsha were excellent! This trip is a good balance of snorkeling, hiking, beautiful views, and beach time. Thanks for a great day out!

We LOVED the flight and rafting experience. Our skipper, Brad, was an incredible driver and made everyone aboard really relaxed. He was super clear with his directions and always went out of his way to lend anyone a hand. The deckies, Abbey and Marsha, went above and beyond to ensure the safety and comfort of every person. I cannot recommend this enough!

What a fantastic day. Very enjoyable day. well looked after by our crew. Riptide Snorkeling was definitely a highlight. Not rush either, plenty of time to see the wonders of the barrier Reef.

The staff were excellent to deal with. The snorkelling spots were Magic and the hill inlet lookout was a great walk and lookout. Would definitely recommend.
