Wonderful experience. We just showed the viator ticket to the tram office to have it exchanged with the tram tickets. The route was perfect, it provided a good overview of the area. The conductors were friendly. We had the best ice cream on stop 7 (Duck Island). We had a great experience.

What a great way to get an overview of the city in 18 stops. Beautifully maintained and preserved antique trolly we went around twice just to get a great feel of where we wanted to explore.

Unfortunately this wasn’t a great tour. Our driver had a soft voice and we had difficulty hearing the commentary. Between the soft voice, the clacking of the trolley and the guests talking amongst themselves, we really didn’t get the information I had hoped from the tour. I don’t understand why people book a tour to learn about the city and then just talk throughout the commentary. We did eventually get another driver who had a louder voice but then the assistant driver chatted with the guests on board! I certainly wouldn’t pay the fare that Christ Church attractions is asking g ($40NZD). At least Viator is less expensive. Overall I found it frustrating and disappointing.

Easy to buy tickets, and really fun to ride around in each of the trolley cars - they’re each different which makes the hop on hop off nature of the activity more interesting. The drivers give a good overview of what you’re seeing outside the car, and they stop at every tram stop, so you don’t have to worry about pulling the bell or flagging them down.

A brilliant way to see Christchurch at a leisurely pace. Informative commentary and very helpful crews. And if you love the nostalgia of beautifully restored and maintained vintage trams this is the place!

We only had a little over 24 hours in Christchurch. This was less than we wanted but was dictated by other scheduling constraints elsewhere on our itinerary. The hop on hop off tram was a great way to cover the ground, see more than we would have otherwise and get a commentary thrown in. Evan and Eliot, who took turns as driver and conductor, were a great double act. Suitable informative and humorous patter from both of them, probably honed by many repetitions but sounding fresh and new.

Highly recommended, the first driver we got was quite the comedian, knew the history of the place he broke the silence good to know the facts about CC. Excellent idea of getting it's well worth the price of $72.28 for 2 adults all day pass. Not sure why NZ Government would spend over $100M for the Art Gallery, restoration of churches etc all in all it's well worth the trip around.
